Saber Interactive asks players to avoid leak of 'unfinished' Space Marine 2 build

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 developer Saber interactive has lamented the leak of an old build that could spoil the experience for players.
Footage from a playable version of the title was uploaded to YouTube earlier this week (thanks Eurogamer) and it also appeared that some people had been able to download and play that same iteration.
The leak occurred just two months ahead of release, with Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 currently slated to launch on September 9, 2024. Responding to the situation, Saber has implored players to steer clear of footage that comes from a build it claims is almost a year old.

Apple Arcade devs call company out of touch, cite Vision Pro and payment issues

Earlier this year, developers for the Apple Arcade aired their grievances with the tech giant. Now, another report from MobileGamer shows the relationship has become further strained.
Some of the complaints from sources build on what was previously discussed in February. Developers are now waiting up to six months to get paid, go weeks without communication from Apple, and eventual talks can be "disappointing."
One source alleged meetings often have half of Apple's team missing, and those that are there "have no idea what’s going on and can’t answer our questions. Either they don't have knowledge, or can't speak because of confidentiality reasons."

PTW acquires Ghostpunch Games for $13 million and pitches 'AI-based' services

Service provider PTW has acquired co-development studio Ghostpunch Games for $13 million.
PTW CEO Deborah Kirkham said the deal will enable the company to "deliver exceptional development services" to its global partners.
"Ghostpunch is a highly respected development partner for numerous top-tier triple-A studios, boasting a remarkable retainment rate of over 90 percent," added Kirkham, who described the studio as a "standout" business with an "impressive reputation."

Update: Until Dawn remake developer Ballistic Moon confirms layoffs

Update (09/04/2024): Ballistic Moon has confirmed a number of employees have been laid off. In a statement posted on Linkedin, the company indicated it has struggled to navigate the "complex challenges" facing the game industry.
"We at Ballistic Moon are confronted with some difficult realities. It is with deep regret and a heavy heart that we must make the tough decision to significantly scale down our team to secure the future of our studio. This comes after our development of Until Dawn for PS5 and PC," reads the statement.
