Time to get real…
My August look back feels sparse compared to July.
I think there’s a lot of pressure for August to be full of activity and “fun stuff” but in the reality of pushing into the last couple of months of my 30s, I’m definitely very aware that this year has not been about the fun stuff.
It has been about working. Working our butts off on projects neither of us imagined we’d be working on, way back in January.
It is exciting and scary.
I won’t deny that turning 40 is playing on my mind a bit right now, but the past couple of months have been about working on getting my mental health to a better place because I don’t want to enter my 40s in the same place I entered my 30s.
Yesterday I finally managed to take part in one of Gemma’s #netwalks and I’m so glad I did. It was so nice to put faces to a few business owners I only know online and to see parts of Waltham that I’d never seen before. Plus, the walk did absolute wonders.
If you get chance, I definitely recommend booking onto one of these sessions. They take place monthly around Grimsby and Cleethorpes. They get you away from your desk for an hour or so. There’s coffee and cake at the end of it, and you’ll meet some new people.
