Yesterday saw chancellor Rachel Reeves deliver Labour's first budget in 14 years.
She raised taxes by £40bn, including an increase in National Insurance contributions for employers from April.
The chancellor also announced a rise in the minimum wage by 6.7% to £12.21 for those over 21.

Goole remembers …

Off they go!!

Firefighters attended the former Burtons factory late last night after reports of a fire.

The Howden Ashes 5k and 10k runs took place last night and we were there to capture the action. Full photo coverage in next week’s Goole Times but for now, here’s the start of the run!

Just a reminder that Boothferry Bridge is now closed until 6am, unless planned work is completed earlier than that time. The bridge will be one-lane traffic controlled by traffic lights for the next six months while essential work is carried out.
