CALLING ALL BAKERS!!
Bellway Homes is appealing for local bakers to bring their sweet treats, special sponges and mouth-watering creations to a special Bake Off competition at its Penny Way development in Snaith on Saturday 31st August.
The competition, which is being held to mark the official opening of its show homes, is open to everyone - no matter their age or whether they've ever baked a cake before - and will be judged by Town Mayor, Councillor Joanne Whiteley, and Deputy Mayor, Councillor Jim Hollas - with the winning baker walking away with a baking masterclass at The Grand in York.

Off they go!!
Firefighters attended the former Burtons factory late last night after reports of a fire.
The Howden Ashes 5k and 10k runs took place last night and we were there to capture the action. Full photo coverage in next week’s Goole Times but for now, here’s the start of the run!
Just a reminder that Boothferry Bridge is now closed until 6am, unless planned work is completed earlier than that time. The bridge will be one-lane traffic controlled by traffic lights for the next six months while essential work is carried out.
Firefighters are currently at the scene of a major fire in Howden. Residents are advised to keep their windows closed due to the smoke.
