biggerhouse film Multi award-winning film production company specialising in creating person-centred films to educate

From the initial concept to final realisation, we take an enormous amount of care and time to ensure that, not only is the message of the film put across effectively, the participants learn from the process and crucially, have a tremendous amount of fun. A lot of our work is with people with learning disabilities, or young people, but we work with anyone who has a message to get across. Biggerhous

e Film’s directors Stephen Clarke and Tom Stubbs have been working together for over ten years. In that time they have worked closely with Somerset Film and in 2003, Stephen helped set up The Engine Room, a community film making workshop. Continuing this partnership with Somerset Film, they have set up JUMPcuts, high quality award winning digital media co-produced by people with learning disabilities reaching audiences across the UK and beyond.

Tell us about someone you lost who you were really really fond of.

Eric said: ‘If I'm outside at night times, in the dark at night times, when I see the stars in the sky.
I think that is my sister in a star, looking at me.’

It’s Dying Matters Awareness Week, and we’re celebrating a new film: ‘we need to talk about… death’ which Ollie, Melissa, Kai, Eric, Briony and Loretta appeared in.

📆 Over the week we will be sharing lots of fun facts and information about the film.

🙌 The students were visited at My Day last week by BBC Points West who interviewed those involved. We can’t wait to share this clip with you throughout this week as we share the message: “It’s okay to talk about death!”

1️⃣ For the first day of Dying Matter Awareness Week:

📣 Today, an article was released in the Byline Times: https://bylinetimes.com/2024/05/06/people-with-learning-disabilities-can-be-overprotected-a-new-film-talking-about-death/
