So it's just about a year to the minute when I last spoke to my Dad.
I spoke to him every day, and I miss that.

Today I took some of his musical gear up to Erskine Arts, who will use it in their community classes and groups. My Dad helped to run guitar and music groups in Dundee so I think he would have liked that.

I didn't want to leave it beyond the year, but had been putting off getting around to it, I feared it was like just letting go some more, but instruments are meant to be played and they won't play themselves sitting in my attic. It was actually quite a nice feeling to do the handover, that other people will get to enjoy them and make some noise with them.

My Dad had COPD, and had been on full time oxygen since Dec 21, after a hospital stay with pneumonia. We had spoke about how the end was coming fairly candidly, he was at reasonable ease with it, and from how I found him, it appears to have been peaceful when it came.

I'm taking a wee break from things as I am a ball of emotion and anxiety just now. Will be picking up work again soon.

I made these a few years back during covid. I’m a huge fan of social history and had seen sone of Stephens archive from Renfrew, he is a very talented chap especially when off his press staple beat. I shot loads of great interview copy, too much for the intended destination, so I put a few extra clips together as I thought they were very interesting, and I’m delighted to see Stephen share them now.
