Oops … I’ve been very very absent from this page recently, truthfully I’ve just felt burnt out and haven’t found the extra energy to post here.
Anyway, I’m still here, still taking commissions behind the scenes and I have opened up a few extra slots for Christmas orders. 🎄
The drawing above is 1 of a 3 part series a customer ordered to showcase all of the homes her and her husband have owned together. 🏡

For this special 50th Birthday print we merged several photos together to get the finished piece. 🥳
Jimmy as a young black watch solider, a recent picture of him in uniform and the field of poppies.
As a later addition we also included a picture of his late mother in the corner as though she was watching down on him while serving in the army.
I love how all the elements fit so well together and the contrast of the poppies against the background! 🌹

Recently I’ve done a lot of house sketches and honestly there is something so therapeutic about doing them. 💆🏻♀️
Every line is intentional.
Personally, I love the imperfect squiggle of the lines and shading. It makes the drawing even more bespoke, adding that extra character to the print.

I thought I’d officially introduce myself on here - so HELLO! 👋🏼
I’m Jenna the face behind this wee page - Layers of Jen.
After being furloughed last year for a few months I was searching for a creative outlet to keep my mind busy so I started drawing for family and friends to give as gifts, I took the plunge to open this page and the rest is history.
Here’s some quick facts about me:-
1 - I’m going to be 30 this year 🤡
2- I’m an architect by profession
3 - I love music and belting out songs but god do I wish I was a good singer 😅

This client had a special photo from a trek up Mount Snowdon - pre-covid, that she wanted recreated for a gift.
I love the curly hair and the pop of colour on her headband! 🌞

Yup, it all seems like a distant memory.
We’ll be back to normal soon though, celebrating these special days but until that day comes this commission of where & got hitched will have to do 😉
As it was a Halloween wedding we chose an autumnal background and picked out the focal features of the hall while taking some artistic license with some stacked pumpkins. 🎃 💒 👬🏻

This has to be one of my favourite commissions so far!! ✨
Dean reached out before Christmas looking for a large drawing of his family. We merged two photos together to get the perfect composition of everyone on the steps and picked out certain elements to highlight in colour like the medals, everyone’s hair and his own bracelets; which were a gift from the kids.
These personal touches make this print even more special.

Just a quick note to thank everyone for the support over the last few months.
Since starting this little ‘creative outlet’, I’ve worked on so many bespoke commissions for people all over the UK. It still baffles me to be quite honest but yeah.. I can’t wait to show you some of the finished products!!
A HUGE thanks to everyone who ordered for Christmas and apologies to those who missed the cut off date, it had to come a little earlier than expected due to the amount of orders. Not to fear though, I’ll be back open in the New Year for all your gifting needs..
For now, I hope everyone has a nice Holiday and you are able to celebrate reaching the end of 2020, in some way, shape or form...

This was a special one for my best friends 1 year wedding anniversary.
is the most beautiful location for all occasions. Obviously at the moment with Covid there are lots of restrictions but they’re currently holding a Winter Store selling lots of lovely sustainable goods and foods, perfect for gifting. Make sure you check them out.

Hope everyone’s well! I’ve had a few days off celebrating my lockdown Birthday. 🎈 I’ve had a lot of commissions this week alone, which has been AMAZING and I’m so thankful!
As Christmas is basically around the corner this is just a gentle reminder to get your orders in ASAP as I will only be taking on a certain amount of commissions in December. (Unfortunately I have to actually make time for my 9-5 first... 🤣)
