Turning reality on it’s head to pursue the war in Ukraine. A White House spokesperson lies through her teeth that there’s no evidence to suggest that internationally outlawed deleted uranium munitions cause cancer & other diseases in the long term.

PENTAGON Spokesperson: "I would push back on the assertion from Russian officials here. The CDC has stated that there is no evidence that the depleted uranium rounds cause cancer." 🤡

Land Leaguers, Fenians and Celtic Football Club

In the 1880’s and 1890’s, Celtic Football Club provided strong support to Irish nationalist causes. Accounts presented at the 1889 AGM reveal that a sum of money was allocated to the ‘Father McFadden Defence Fund’. Father McFadden was a Donegal Priest who was facing charges in relation to land agitation. Accounts presented at the 1890 AGM show that a contribution was made that year to the ‘Matt Harris Fund’. Harris died earlier that year and had played a leading role in both the Fenian and Land League movements. He served alongside Michael Davitt on the Supreme Council of the IRB. It is noteworthy that Davitt was appointed a Patron of Celtic at this meeting.

In 1890 a donation was also made to the discharged Prisoners Fund.
At the 1891 AGM it was revealed that monies were paid to ‘The Evicted Tenant’s Fund’. Many of Celtic’s founding fathers had backgrounds in the Irish Republican Brotherhood and the various Land Organisations. Messages of gratitude often appeared in newspapers thanking Celtic for providing funding for the relief of evicted tenants. Sometimes such funding allowed those who were evicted to start a new life in Glasgow or elsewhere.

The Homeland Party made a busybody video from Erskine objecting to some FLAF stickers put up by Greenock Morton supporters, claiming that they are not ‘locals’. Erskine is a new town on the way to Greenock that houses people from the general area and as far afield as Glasgow & parts of Ayrshire.

We suspect that the complaining OAP’s from Homeland had to drive there from Glasgow or Paisley to express their outrage. In true conservative style they’re threatening to report us for ‘littering’ to the local council.🤣

Antiquated, socially conservative, anti-youth attitudes from authoritarian right-wingers. 😂

William ‘Bill The Butcher’ Poole was a racist and an anti-Catholic extremist in the New York of the mid-19th Century. He led riots & pogroms against Catholics in the city.

Tonight’s tifo at the Ibrox Bigotdome was in honour of this very same William Poole, the leader of the bigoted ‘nativist’ gang that opposed Catholic (especially Irish Catholic) immigration to NYC, made famous in Scorsese’s movie, The Gangs of New York.

Played by Daniel Day Lewis in the film, ‘Bill The Butcher’ was a racist, sectarian, murderer. Bill Poole lived by the sword & died by the sword. He died at the age of 33 after being hunted down & shot by his enemies.

So the Bluenoses have found another famous ‘Billy’ to worship, they can now hang his image alongside their famous King Billy & the more infamous ‘Billies’, Fullerton & Wright.

The fans of ‘Old Firm FC’ have an abundance of confidence over common sense… something tells us that planning victory celebrations in advance, without the slightest amount of evidence to suggest that your team can win the match, is likely to backfire.

Glasgow will be green & white that day…

Now in stock The true story of the Irish Priest who armed the IRA

“My mentor was Danny McGrain—he looked after me like a father figure. Like plenty other young Celtic players you would get caught up in the emotions of Irish history and the rebellious nature. The Rangers boys I grew up with from the barracks [in Maryhill] went through that too. We didn’t do it in front of each other—some of the songs would attract a glance of the eye from a player like Danny as if to say ‘why are you singing that?’ It was funny but there was a point of principle, we understood and respected that it wasn’t for them.
Danny used to pick me up because I wasn’t old enough to drive. From Monday to Friday he would fit in at least three hospital visits or supporter functions. After training he would ask me what I was doing. My response was not a lot. He’d say, ‘ok, we’re going on a hospital visit, this guy’s lost a leg in an accident.’
“We would turn up and you’d see someone for an hour. I’ll tell you, it’s not easy when you walk into a situation like that but Danny would be straight over to talk to the patient, answer any questions about himself and the fabric of the club. I would sit there and listen to him and eventually you would pick up what Celtic really and truly was about.
“In those moments you would come outside and feel cleansed for just going in and saying hello to someone. When I close my eyes and think about what Celtic is, I think of Danny. I can see the statues of Jock, Billy, Jimmy and Brother Walfrid but I also think Danny has had a hand in those values in terms of his teaching and the ambassadorial role he has played at the club.
“Danny McGrain had it all and a true understanding of everything: that’s why he’s still there to this day.”

It was brought to the attention of Celtic Fans Against Fascism that there have been increasing numbers of Dinamo Zagreb's hooligan gang - the Bad Blue Boys - making visits to Glasgow and following Celtic in Europe in recent seasons. Much of the information available about the Bad Blue Boys suggests that they are predominantly right-wing in political outlook and have an extreme nationalist and N**i element among their support.

On at least two separate occasions over the years the BBB have attacked our anti-fascist friends from St Pauli at Celtic's European matches (in Zagreb and Budapest). The attacks were politically motivated. The BBB know St Pauli's anti-fascist reputation and attacked them because of it.

Unfortunately, some misguided Celtic fans have indulged right-wing members of this group and made them welcome at our ground and in our pubs. This season saw a banner raised inside Celtic Park in solidarity with Dinamo fans who are in dispute with their obnoxious right-wing chairman. While we can identify with any fan of any club who is dissatisfied with the way that their club is run, we do not believe that it is in the interests of Celtic fans or Celtic FC for our fans to make any kind of public solidarity with the Bad Blue Boys as long as the BBB is embarrassed by this extreme nationalist and N**i element. We do not want friendships or anything to do with fascist elements within the BBB, that is any BBB who still have anything to do with fascism, N***sm and extreme nationalism. BBB who have nothing to do with fascism and extreme nationalism are welcome, as are the individual anti-fascist supporters of any club.

This anti-fascist principle applies equally to any ultras group at any other club with a fascist element still prominent in its stands and terraces. Right wingers and fascists are not welcome at Celtic Park.

Celtic Fans Against Fascism want to see a change in the situation at Dinamo Zagreb and other clubs with a problematic fascist element. We offer our support and solidarity to anti-fascists among the BBB. We would welcome dialogue with anti-N***s at Dinamo. All who oppose racism and fascism are welcome at Celtic Park.

We have decided to launch a campaign among Celtic supporters aimed at educating them as to the political nature of various ultras (the BBB being one example only) and mobilising Celtic fans against fascists and extreme nationalists who may try to attach themselves to our club.

Many groups on the extreme right in Europe will identify themselves as our ‘friends’ with Papal flags and friendly talk about the Irish struggle, don’t be fooled by it. Make sure that you know the politics of any group who would attach themselves to our club.

In each issue of TAL we will present articles that educate and inform our supporters about the politics of extreme right-wing ultras groups and hooligan mobs.

ALL racists and fascists should be booted out of Celtic Park.

When the scum of Zagreb came to Celtic, some of our fans wanted to make a big friendship with them. Some of our ultras even took them to the Brazen Head & partied with them.

They argued that the Bad Blue Boys (BBB) was “only an ultras group, Catholic & nationalist, just like in Ireland.” Sectarian fascist bigots is what BBB are & no amount of obfuscation will change that fact.

When they were partying with the BBB, TAL was warning against making links with fascists & ‘grey zone’ hooligans & ultras.

Those who have collaborated with, and continue to collaborate with the Bad Blue Boys through secret visits to matches & holidays to Zagreb, we know you’re still there, still making excuses for them. You should hang your heads in shame, you clueless, arrogant bastards, because this is the hill you fought TAL on & you’re now reaping what you have sown.

TÁL FANZINE: The Rebels Choice

The TAL Fanzine – ‘Tiocfaidh Ar La – For Celtic & Ireland’ – was founded in late 1991 and the first issue of the fanzine was sold at the New Year 1992 match when Celtic played rangers. The magazine soon established itself as the authentic voice of the republican-minded Celtic supporters who gathered in Glasgow every other Saturday to watch The Bhoys play. The fanzine has also appeared online in various forms in recent years.

When TAL was founded the term ‘Tiocfaidh Ar La’ (Our Day Will Come) seemed to sum up our hopes for our football club which was going through one of the most barren and trophy-less periods of its history. The Irish phrase is one coined by republicans and expresses their desire for freedom and their struggle to establish a united 32 County democratic socialist republic in Ireland.

‘Our Day Will Come’ encapsulated everything that we felt about our club and the aspirations we felt for the country and the people that gave birth to it – Ireland. It was our forefathers – those Irish immigrants that fled famine and hunger to set up home in the hostile environments of the West of Scotland in the late 19th Century – who founded The Celtic Football Club.
