A couple of sets from today's Mela in Kelvingrove Park. The Mela has been going for over 30yrs and I was honoured to take the publicity photos for one of the first when it was in Albert Drive. One of my favourite events of the year. Set 1 Ahbinaya, Gtown Desi, Haji Meer Ali Khan-Qawwali and some crowd shots. Set 2 Rameet Sandhu. I've known Rameet for 13yrs now - her return to the Mela after wowing crowds across the Indian subcontinent and Middle East. Her talent is just incredible.

In the Tuscany spring, the country lanes are full of flowers making the most of the recent rains and the very pleasant warmth before it gets really hot. (Most mobiles can take similar photos, shoot with the camera upside down, and use macro, flower, food, portrait or pro modes if you have them.)

A varied weekend to say the least. Some really promising and amazing buskers, a Japanese jazz pianist, a derelict building and a few scabby dogs. The photo with the most social media interaction - was actually the building.

At the seaside in Troon and loving the fresh sea air. Due to the pandemic and caring, trips to the seaside weren't that easy.

So the last time we saw the sea was at Livorno in Italy in 2018.

Busking on Buchanan Street was Evie McColgan Music - some of you might remember she was in The Voice as a young 14yr old. They didn't turn but I do think they would now. She has a great talent.

Some of you may know the reasons why I've been quiet on here recently. For those who don't, I needed to prioritise caring for my wife. Sadly Linda passed away in December and yes of course it takes time to overcome grief and to rebuild, but that's what I'm doing now.

For the immediate future, I'm back with masses of time on my hands. As well as my photography, I've been finishing off some other projects that I now have time to complete.

So if you have anything you'd like some photography to help your project or work stand out, do let me know.

I've not been doing as much photography as I would like and it's a long time since I undertook some sports photography, but today I had a few hours free to watch the UCI women's road race. Pleased with some of the reactions of the riders as well as placing them in our Glasgow streets.

The Mimbre acrobats from Hackey were at the Merchant City Festival - this group have a special place for me, because they were one of the first street performance groups I ever captured 11 years ago. They loved my photos at the time and used them as part of ther publicity for years to follow.

Glasgow Pride 2022 - as marches go, it's always the happiest out there.

After the official march was over some hate preachers turned up in George Square - these are the same people who have been targeting the Sandyford Clinic. To their utter credit, the pride marchers were having none of it and even brought along a saxophone to drown them out.

I see from time to time people having a look and still sharing some of the photos here - it's lovely to see these moments in time still bringing joy to people.

You may also have noticed that there hasn't been so many photos recently - hopefully I'll be posting more in the future but for the moment my photo taking opportunities are a little limited. Stay safe everyone and keep doing what you do so well.
