Very different show this evening as we shine a massive spotlight in the face of the very capable and indefatigable Chris Burness ahead of his album launch this coming Saturday at The Tavern.
He speaks about the recording process, takes a deep(ish) dive into some of the tracks and we have an exclusive off ‘The Instrumental Chapter’ album ahead of its release on Saturday 8th March.
Music also features from local acts J.S & The Lockerbillies, Ash Carr and Rob Lewis.
Normal frivolities return the week after!

Live at 6pm on www.rendleshamradio.com
Tonight’s THE STRENUOUS LINK features the artists pictured below - but you’ll have to hear the songs to work out the link I would think.
In HOW VERY A’NEWS’ING you have suggested some corkers for the story about Japan running out of surnames as soon as the 26th century.
AROUND THE WORLD IN 26 LETTERS sees us straddle the very awkward X! It gets fictional.
In WHODUNNIT? one of the singers celebrating a birthday today gets a song covered by a very famous member of quite a popular band.
We introduce a one minute feature called The Minute Muse, I’ll explain more on the show but we debut young Alma Sankey’s first release as part of it.
And have you seen ex-Eastender Michelle Gayle? She’s the subject of WHERE ARE THEY NOW? Possibly back in Eastenders for all I know.
See you at six!

Here's a (year old) story to get you thinking for Wednesday night's show. Japan have an old law that means as imminently as 2531 (precise!?) Japan will run out of surnames and they will all have the same surname... Sato.

Get your song suggestions in for that apocalyptic scenario.

Japan is the only country in the world that requires married couples to use the same name.

In WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
Where the heck is ex Spurs footballer, Austrian hit maker, Falco?
In HOW VERY ANEWSING you’ve suggested some corking song suggestions for the story about some insurance scammers who dressed as bears and damaged their own car.
AROUND THE WORLD IN 26 LETTERS lands us on ‘W’ - all wight?
See you then.

Cracking story about some people that tried to scam an insurance company (some would say fair enough, I wouldn't of course) by claiming a bear damaged their car. Cameras revealed it was actually one of them in a bear costume. Song suggestions please for Wednesday's 'How Very A'news'ing' feature?

Four people are accused of using footage of a fake bear damaging luxury cars to file false insurance claims in California.

Show live in 15 on www.rendleshamradio.com at 6pm for 60 scintillating minutes.
Have you seen Ms Dynamite? We’re after your sightings in Where Are They Now?
Barry Jones takes us to V in Around The World in 26 Letters.
Whodunnit? Features a cover of a Mama and Papas classic.
The Strenuous Link is spectacularly difficult (unless you’re a massive historian of one of the bands featured I guess. Prove me wrong!

On the show on Wednesday I need your help for the hilarious new feature 'How Very A'news'ing'
Last time we had a story about a man fending off a mugger armed only with a pair of jeans in a laundrette.
Get cracking with songs that go some way to allude to this week's bizarre story that thousands are flocking to a New York botanic garden to take in the scent of a flower that smells like a rotting co**se.

Visitors to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden are lining up to see — and smell — a rare bloom at that has the scent of a rotting co**se.

Apologies to Brian, Sharon, Tracey, Mark, Jake, Barry, Paul, Gerry, Alan, Leighton, Charlie, Jaime and anybody else that tunes in on the quiet to my show - there’s no live one tonight due to me not being about this evening at the usual time I’m afraid.
Bigger and better next Wednesday though. Or the same, possibly.

Tonight live on www.rendleshamradio.com at 6pm - these three are/would be celebrating a birthday today - who are they and which one should we play a song by?
Some brilliant suggestions for our new feature ‘How Very A’news’ing!’ Thank you. One of those suggestions will win themselves a Simon Says coaster. Possibly.
In WHERE ARE THEY NOW?, we are looking for The All Seeing I. Get in touch with any sightings. A Beatles classic gets properly stripped bare in WHODUNNIT?
Music also from The Asteroids Galaxy Tour, The Band and Black Country, New Road amongst other songs by other people and some talking. Bye.

In a frankly amazing new feature on tomorrow's live show at 6pm on Rendlesham Radio, we are after song suggestions that would 'fit' nicely with this week's unusual news story about a man fending off a petty criminal in a Yorkshire laundrette with just a pair of jeans.
Please comment below with your best shot(s) and we'll pick the most outstanding and appropriate. You could win a Simon Says coaster (if there was any)

The incident happened last week and a 42-year-old man has been charged with attempted robbery.

Tonight’s show is LIVE at 6pm from The Sanctuary on www.rendleshamradio.com
Broadcasting to the world, Mexicans and non-binaries.
Ikarusband kick off the show with their newest release.
AROUND THE WORLD IN 26 LETTERS sees us hit T and land in Texas - but which artist?
WHODUNNIT? sees a more theatrical take on a song featured in parts at Monday’s extraordinary Trump Rally (inauguration) at The Capitol.
Sightings required for WHERE ARE THEY NOW? of The Scissor Sisters please.
See you at 6.

No live show this evening due to reasons well within my control - however if you missed last week’s bumper new year edition, you should be able to hear that again (possibly)
I will be back next Wednesday.

It's a new year and I'm back tomorrow live on www.rendleshamradio.com at 6pm in the old Wednesday night slot from now on.
Who is the odd one out below? Who is just odd? Well, it's a stunning line up of musical birthdays tomorrow. Three are pictured, can you name them? Chris Burness (top left) however isn't celebrating a birthday, but he is celebrating a release of his first recording off his forthcoming album, so we'll give that a play. In Whodunnit? one of the birthday boys below gets a song of his covered by a lady.
We feature a choice from Her Outdoors. In Where Are They Now? I need your help finding Alicia Keys - did she continue 'Fallin' off the edge of the world?
Each week this year I revisit some of the best tracks from more local artists and that's an easily engineered excuse to play a track from the brilliant ady johnson.
Do join me tomorrow at 6pm. Sit in a dark room with a cup of tea, ignore your friends and family and get in touch. Let's do this together.

Tonight’s show at 6pm live on www.rendleshamradio.com features music pretty much all chosen by listeners.
Thanks to Ruth Lucas, Brian Keenan, Paul Dorset, Perry Evans, Paul Galley, Adam Simpson-York and her outdoors for some cracking suggestions. The picture below gives you a head start on The Strenuous Link. Not Christmas songs but statistically Christmas related. Anybody the gets it right wins a Dairy Milk calendar.
Honestly. I’ve got loads of them.

I’m finally back tomorrow evening at 6pm on www.rendleshamradio.com with the last/first show before Christmas Day.
As per, I’d love your alternative Christmas song selections. The ones that you won’t have heard the majority of radio stations belting out ad nauseam since mid November.
Comment down below or message the page and I’ll get cracking. Thanks in advance and for the suggestions thus far.

Hello! The Thursday night slot isn’t really working out for me in recent weeks so I won’t be on air tonight either! I WILL be back next Thursday (19th) for a Christmas show of epic proportions featuring a few of the best alternative Christmas music suggested to me over the years of doing the show. Feel free to add any suggestions in the comments.
Also, feel free not to.
Apologies to mainly Barry, Paul, my sister and her parents in law.
See you next week.

In the most seismic radio return since the rare occasions Tamsin Grieg reappears on The Archers, I'm actually doing a show this evening from 6pm on www.rendleshamradio.com (if I can remember how)
FEATURES -
THE STRENUOUS LINK - songs from these two pictured, but what do they have in common?
A track from the new album by local legends J.S & The Lockerbillies
(that will open the show so don't miss that)
AROUND THE WORLD IN 26 LETTERS takes us to 'S' and a musical icon from Sheffield.
WHODUNNIT? That great cover competition is a version of a song originally made famous the now living AI singer, Frankie Valli but who's doing this acoustic version of it?
In WHERE ARE THEY NOW? I'm after your sightings of Queens Of The Stone Age.
Music also from Kate Bollinger, The Raconteurs and The Foundations amidst the other songs that giveaway the competitions.
I'd love you to tune in and be part of it otherwise...
"Alexa?......What's the point?"
