This is amazing news!!!! Have been lucky to be able to watch 2023 Battle of the Bands winner The Upper Hand go from being a band in a video application to a contest to seeing them grow as a band, help them record their music, see it all come together and get to here. There’s a load more songs we helped them record to come out over the next few months, great start guys!!!!!

WE HAVE OUR FIRST 1000 STREAMS!!! The support and feedback has been overwhelmingly positive for our debut single and we want to thank those who have listened and shared the track round so far ❤️ let’s see how far we can go!

🎶🎸🎶 Devon Music Education Hub are delighted to launch the Devon Secondary Schools Battle of the Bands 2025, delivered in partnership with MIDI and R&K Systems.

Bands and aspiring artists from secondary schools/settings across Devon, Plymouth and Torbay can now apply to join us at one of our regional heats at Creative Arts Petroc, Kevicc Performing Arts, Uffculme School or Plympton Academy ahead of the final at Exeter Phoenix.

Your never lonely with an obsession #3.

You don't always need an expensive mic. Picked this SE Electronics Se 2000 large diaphragm condenser mic off eBay for £50. Bizarrely, also ordered 2 SE2200's but had to send them back; wonky, hissy, poppy and stinky (saliva probably, from no use of a pop shield). Sent them back. They are a newer model, far higher in spec AND COST than the 2000, but unusable.

Turns out its awesome, gives a really big punchy sound and have been having fun recording dirty rock guitars today. Really nice level of detail, no pops or hisses that I can hear and flexible with switchable 80hz HPF & -10db cut......

This GoToToolz GTZ87+ Large Diaphragm Condenser just arrived from New York City. Incredible Neumann U87-inspired modern mic without the Neumann-inspired price.

Self-noise is just 9dBA, so literally no audible background hiss at all unless your Spiderman. Mind boggling to think than an actual Neumann 87 has Self-Noise of12-15dBa (depending on polar pattern). Sounded incredible on a very quick test.
