Saturday 8th February (7.30 pm - 11.15 pm) at Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, Woodfield Lane, Ashtead, Surrey, KT21 2BE.

They're Slick, they're cool and they're here!

King Joe & The Atlantic’s are an exciting 6-piece band heavily influenced by the electrifying sounds of 1940’s & 1950’s RnB ….. and they are about to make their debut at Ruby’s!

So, if you like the sounds of Big Joe Turner, Amos Milburn and Jimmy McCracklin, you will love them. These guys are the real deal and sport an ‘All Star Line Up’ that include Wayne Lee (son of Albert Lee), Nick Lunt (from the Jools Holland Orchestra) and Al Nicholls (from Mike Sanchez’s band ‘The Big Town Playboys). With a CV that includes performances at the Rhythm Riot and Hemsby you would be a fool to miss them…..

In between sets Shakin Shep (Surrey Jive's resident DJ) will be playing from his huge collection of 'Red Hot and Blue' floor fillers that include RnB, Rock n' Roll, Rockabilly and Jump Jive. So, don't forget to say you heard it first at Ruby's 'The Home of Happy Feet.'

Our dances are well attended, and you will find a warm and friendly atmosphere to greet you. Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, Woodfield Lane, Ashtead, Surrey, KT21 2BE has a large sprung dance floor, licensed bar and large free car park. The hall is situated close to the M25.

Thank you very much for looking and we hope to see you on the dance floor!

Tuesday 31st December (7.30 pm - 12.30 am) The Wells Centre, 7 Spa Drive, Epsom, Surrey, KT18 7LR.

Surrey Jive are pleased to announce we are holding our very first NEW YEAR'S EVE PARTY, and what better band to get 2025 off to a fantastic start than ‘The Class of 58.’

This talented family played for us in June this year and sold out! Their versatility knows no bounds. Playing popular Doo-wop, Rock n’ Roll, RnB and Rockabilly classics both here and in Europe, there really is something for everybody. The legend that is Charlie Gracie said, “They sound like they have been playing for 40 years!” So, if you like that authentic 50’s sound then Ruby’s is the place for you…. come and join the party!

The evening will begin with a drinks reception where you will be offered a glass of Prosecco (or an alternative soft drink). A cold luxury buffet will then be provided during the evening. There is NO BAR at this venue so please feel free to bring your own alcohol/drinks.

In between sets Shakin Shep (Surrey Jive’s resident DJ) will be creating that unique Ruby’s sound and playing from his huge collection of ‘Red Hot and Blue’ floor fillers that include RnB, Rock n’ Roll, Rockabilly and Jump Jive.

The hall is situated close to the M25 and there is residential parking on arrival with no restrictions. There are also a number of popular hotels nearby.

*** ONLY 3-WEEKS to GO until Surrey Jive’s Wartime Remembrance Dance - Pat Reyford & His Symphony 5 ***

Saturday 9th November (7.30 pm – 11.15 pm) at Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, Woodfield Lane, Ashtead, Surrey, KT21 2BE.

This must be one of the most popular dances on the Surrey Jive calendar and the atmosphere is always fantastic. Some of last year’s comments included “It was one of the best if not the best Ruby’s ever to date. Amazing participation and phenomenal atmosphere.” “Such an amazing night last night! It was bloody fantastic.” We go to great lengths to decorate the hall as a period dance hall and our props just keep growing. So why not get in the spirit and come dressed in 1940’s allied uniform or civilian dress? Whilst period dress is preferred, it is not essential because your company is more important to us. We will be observing a minute’s silence during the evening.

What better way to commemorate such an important weekend than to have one of the finest musicians and singers you will see on stage. Pat Reyford and His Symphony 5 really can do it all. A legend of British Rock n’ Roll in the 1980’s Pat has played in the Four Blazes, Western Swing All Stars, The Big Six and as front man Sugar Ray Ford in the Hot Shots. Tours of the USA followed. Pat now leads a Hot 6-piece dance band The Symphony 5 and they feature: guitar, sax, trumpet, piano, double bass, and drums. These guys are hot and have already packed-out dance halls all over Europe. You won’t want to miss them!

In between sets Shakin Shep (Surrey Jive’s resident DJ) will be playing some fantastic Swing and RnB music to compliment the theme. There will be no Rock n’ Roll this month but this will resume as normal next month.

Tickets are £18.00 per person and can be obtained in advance via the following link: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/surreyjiveltd/1076231
Tickets will be sold on the door for the same price but please book early to avoid disappointment.

Thank you very much for looking and we hope to see you on the dance floor!

Another SELL OUT Saturday night at Ruby’s with courtesy of Memphis Lee & The Creepers. What an amazing evening! The guys played two superb sets, and they kept the dance floor busy all evening. Sadly, this will be the last time we will see them at Ruby’s as Lee steps back from performing at the end of 2025, to spend more time with his family. We would like to thank the guys for creating such memorable nights for us over the years, and we wish them all the very best for the future. They will be a huge loss to the Rock n’ Roll scene, so don’t forget to catch their last gigs in 2024/25.

That said, no evening would be special without you, and we cannot thank you enough for the energy you show on the dance floor, the amazing retro clothes and the fabulous atmosphere you create. We are very lucky indeed. A big thank you to Peter Stockwell and John Reid (to follow shortly) for capturing such lovely memories.

If you fancy doing it all again then we have our wartime Remembrance Dance on SATURDAY 9th NOVEMBER (7.30 pm – 11.15 pm) at Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall, Woodfield Lane, Ashtead, Surrey, KT21 2BE when we host Pat Reyford & His Symphony 5. The hall will be transformed into a WWII dance hall and as a result we will be only playing Swing and RnB. There will be no Rock n’ Roll that night but this will be back as normal in December. Tickets are £18.00 per person and can be purchased via the following link: https://surreyjive.co.uk/event/pat-reyford-his-symphony-5-remembrance-wartime-dance/

Thank you very much again everyone and we look forward to seeing you on the dance floor soon.

Yes, The Kingcats did it again......... they SOLD OUT for the fourth year in a row. What an incredible night they gave us on Saturday, they are simply the best and in a class of their own! Thank you so much guys. With Cody Lee asked to stand in for the extremely talented Jim Hammond on keyboards, he had big shoes to fill. This only added to the anticipation, but Cody knocked it out of the park......

Two floor filling sets kept you dancing all night, and with so many smiling faces the enjoyment was evident. Please check out album 262 from the evening. A big thank you to Peter Stockwell and John Reid for capturing such an amazing night. John's photos will follow shortly. Finally, a big thank you to you all for your continued to support, you make it such a wonderful place to be.

If you want to do it all again we are back at Ruby's on SATURDAY 12th OCTOBER when we host MEMPHIS LEE & THE CREEPERS (6-piece lineup). Lee has made the difficult decision to retire from public performances at the end of 2025 to spend more time with his family. This will be his last performance at Ruby's so please don't miss him, it's going to be another fantastic night. Tickets are £16.00 per person and can be purchased in advance via the following link:

Apologies for the delay in writing this post but I am currently working away. The feedback from Saturday night at Ruby's has been incredible. Cody Lee & The Boogie Boys blew the roof off Ashtead Peace Memorial Hall and kept you on the floor for every song. Thank you guys for two amazing sets. You are such a talented group.

We really do appreciate your continued support and we are glad to hear you had such a nice time. I think the photos from the evening (please see Album 251) say it all.... so many happy faces! These were so professionally taken by Peter Stockwell and John Reid who always capture such lovely memories for us. Thank you both very much.

One final acknowledgement has to go to DJ Stompin Stone (Phil Stone) for covering me on the decks. It was nice to see you back mate.... and to Caroline Stone for all the support you gave us behind the scenes. You are fantastic friends.

Next up for us is the very popular Class of 58 who will be returning to Ruby's on SATURDAY 8th JUNE (7.30 pm - 11.15 pm). Tickets are on sale now at £13.00 per person and can be purchased in advance via the following link: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/surreyjiveltd/1076219

Should there be any tickets remaining these will be sold on the door at the same price but please book early to avoid being disappointed.

Thank you very much for looking and we hope to see you on the dance floor!
