The layout of the Zebra crossing on Main Street is very unusual in that there are parking bays on both sides of the street immediately adjacent to the zigzags. These parking bays are important to the shops for all sorts of reasons so the sensible solution would be to replace the Zebra with a Pelican Crossing which would require vehicles to stop.
Come on Department for Infrastructure and get this sorted before there is a fatality!!! ๐ก

BEWARE FACEBOOK SCAMMERS FAKE ADS
We have identified hundreds of fake car and van listings on Facebook. These posts usually take the form of low priced vehicles which appear extremely clean with a glowing description intended solely to sucker you in!
Further enquiries are never answered, not even the most basic questions and always result in an email being received. Obviously a foreign scammer!
This is all a scam folks. Ultimately their intention is to get you to send a cash deposit which of course you will never see again or indeed the vehicle concerned as it does not belong to them. The images are stolen.

While we were down at the Foyle Embankment earlier today we recorded these wonderful images. Please feel free to share.
For those that are interested, the 240 ton vessel Hortensia was brought from Amsterdam to Lisahally in August of last year.
This was the vessel being hauled up the steep incline from Lisahally docks to the yard where she would be cut into three manageable sections while having conversion and maintenance work carried out.
This was the vessel Hortensia being road transited from Lisahally Docks to Lough Neagh earlier today. The vessel had been cut into three sections to facilitate the road move.

When put back together, the barge will be used to transport sand on Lough Neagh.
The Castle River where it crosses under Main Street in Eglinton today after the removal of tons of rubble and stones which had effectively completely blocked one of the two arches.
Work continues at the bridge in St Canice's Park to remove gravel and various items of detritus that have built up over the years.

The Met Office has issued another YELLOW weather warning for HEAVY RAIN across Northern Ireland tomorrow. High winds are also forecast across the NW from 10am through to 6pm.

The number of deaths in the Creeslough petrol station gas explosion in Co Donegal has now risen to 10 overnight. Two teenagers and a child are among those who lost their lives. Ten other people with significant injuries are being treated in hospital in Letterkenny with two transferred directly to Dublin for specialist treatment.
A horrible accident according to those initially on the scene. The actual cause however will be determined in due course after investigators have had an opportunity to survey the site.
Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all those involved in this terrible incident and to the families of the deceased. ๐๐๐ โ๏ธโ๏ธโ๏ธ
