Modou Barrow is reportedly close to finalizing a move to Incheon United, a club in the South Korean Super League 2, from Al-Ahli SC.

After 15 months of genocide, and as Palestinians in Gaza continue to be targeted and killed by Israel despite the now 12-day-old ceasefire, Trump and multiple members of his administration have levied baseless and profane allegations about US aid spending under the former administration.

In her first press briefing as White House Press Secretary, Karoline Leavitt made a baseless remark that 50 million dollars worth of federal funding was going towards ‘condoms’ in Gaza–which Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency and the US Office of Management and Budget swiftly discovered and called to halt.

The US President repeated these lies today, inanely adding that Hamas has used these items in the creation of bombs. In tweets, Elon Musk and State Department Spokesperson Tammy Bruce echoed his statements.

The Incredible History of the States of the Mandinka in Gambia.

The Mandinka are a major ethnic group in Gambia. They are related to the first people who lived in the Sudanese Belt in the Stone and Iron Ages. The first people who lived on Earth were hunters who made and used knives, axes, scrapers, tools, and needles out of stone and iron.

After that, they made spears, harpoons, sticks, shields, blowguns, bows, and arrows, among other things. Before the year 700, the black people who lived in the Sudanese Belt only lived in a small part of the area. They kept working in farmland and were able to have bigger and denser communities than people whose main job was raising cattle. In the end, they settled in the forests of West Africa.

Beginning around 700 BCE and going through the early Islamic contact period, trade over long distances became more and more important in shaping the economic, social, and political trends of western Sudan. A lot of money was made in some parts of West Africa through trade, which helped build social classes and states.

When the kingdom of Ghana was formed, the Mandinkas were part of the Soninke Clan, which was made up of people who spoke Mande. The people who lived in Mande were also called Manden, Malinke, or Mndinka, for short. All of the former tributary states that made up the empire of Ghana got their freedom back after it fell in 1076.

Our General Secretary Mr. Lamin M. Jassey and his Finance Director, Mr. Kemo Ceesay are currently attending the FIFA Financial Governance Workshop in the Ghanaian capital, Accra. The event, that began today, is holding from 29th to 31st January 2025. The main objective of the workshop is to introduce the newly created Financial Governance guidance and to discuss with Member Associations (MA) the general challenges identified as part of the central audit and reporting process, as well as the specific cases relevant to individual attending MAs.
The event will also allow the global football governing body the opportunity to gather the feedback and views of the participants in the area of financial governance, including their experience and feedback from the audit and reporting process. The workshop will also see sideline meetings with participants where FIFA and the MAs can discuss key information and exchange on football development in MAs respective territory.

Kebba Jallow has officially resumed his role as Secretary General and Party Leader of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) following the party’s Electoral Commission verdict on a petition concerning the December 21st Congress. The decision resulted in the disqualification of Ousman Madikay Faal and six other candidates.

In an official statement, the PPP Electoral Commission announced the ruling, citing constitutional violations as the basis for the disqualifications.

The Gambia Women's National Team today continued their technical preparations at the National Technical Training Centre in Old Yundum, ahead of the WAFCON Qualifiers next month.

Today's training was boosted by the presence of the men's U-20 coach Abdoulie Bojang, who shared his expertise with the players when he led some of the training sessions helping coach Mariama Bom Sowe in her local training program.
