William Gillies: A fresh look at one of Scotland’s most important painters... 🎨

William Gillies adored Scotland. One of the 20th century’s most influential artists, he often travelled around our wee nation sketching and painting, inspired by the landscapes around him.

So it seems only fitting the latest exhibition of his work will take a tour around the mainland and to the Scottish islands this year.

'I am really looking forward to the tenth and possibly last book in the Outlander series.

The women of the RNLI... 👏 Women have played a pivotal role in saving lives at sea since the RNLI was founded in 1824.

Now, 200 years later, women of the RNLI are being celebrated in a new exhibition at the National Maritime Museum in London.

It features a series of 42 stunning black and white pictures were taken by photographer Jack Lowe and recently acquired by the museum.

We caught up with some of the women at lifeboat stations across to find out about life at sea!
