Nick Field Artist All of my work, so far, is of Edinburgh and Highland Cows.

They're drawn with, predominantly, a 0.03mm pen on A2 paper, so covering such a large area with such a tiny pen means each drawing takes me upwards of three months, each 1cm2 at a time!

The end of "No Sleep August"! After The Black Isle Show , Moy Show, Turriff Show , Loch Lomond Shores, Pitlochry, Edinburgh Festival and Defender Blair Castle International Horse Trials , that's almost it for August. Deliveries to make to Trossachs Woolen Mill and The Green Welly Stop tomorrow, then it's off to Belgium for a few days R&R.

Just back from six days up north at The Black Isle Show , Moy and the Turriff Show , back to work for a week, then Loch Lomond Shores with SHS Events , then West End Fair in Edinburgh with 3D2D, then it's Blair Horse Trials.

He's done, this is my Stallion. My thanks to Stunning Steeds for the incredible shot, Lukasz at Edinburgh Arts for getting the scan done so quickly and all the lovely people at Doricmor for all the lovely things they're going to produce. And my wonderful Mags, just for being my wonderful Mags. Now, I have a horse for Blair Castle Horse Trials next year!

My stallion is slowly getting there. My thanks to Stunning Steeds Photography for the photo to draw, it was the most spectacular shot of a horse I could find, though a rearing Shetland Pony was a close second! Hoping to have it finished by the end of the month.

Exceptionally pleased with my new stag tea towels!

My thanks to Sandy at Sprint Design in Stirling for making the towels, Jo at Southfields for the belly bands, my lovely Mags for doing all the folding and Mark Rowe for the original photo. They're going right in to Loch Lomond Shores Market and Antartex Shopping Village in Alexandria tomorrow!

I've been doing a lot of driving this week, deliveries to Alexandria by Loch Lomond, up to Inverness, feeling like I'm driving over the top of Scotland on one of my most favorite drives, from Grantown on Spey to Braemar, and today, my first time in Largs at the Largs Viking Festival

It could be nothing other than drive, work, drive, work, but I get to SEE so much of Scotkand's beauty. The sun was out, and on top of just incredible scenery, forests, mountains, rivers, lochs and memorials, I saw a stag not 20 feet from me and two RAF jets heading into the Cairngorms at low level. Then, my deliveries done, I spent an hour sitting with a coke and looking round The Fife Arms, a beautiful hotel in Braemar. I'd hate just to drive to points A, B and C then head home, so I appreciate all that I see and I stop to breathe it all in.

Then, today, in Largs, the sun was out and then it rained. When it stopped, I walked back to the van and was struck by the mist that seemed to be created in the early evening warmth. The water was completely still as I looked over at the Isle of Cumbrae and at the sun as it shone through a break in the thick, dark clouds. Everything was still and quiet and the mist around the island was just breathtaking. Was I the only one who was seeing this?? I looked around and it seemed to be just me who was in awe of this spectacular sight. I walked onto the beach and saw the reddest seaweed I've ever seen and looking back at the sun, then I saw the ferry from the island returning to Largs, and it seemed, another ferry bound for the island, one coming out of the mist, the other going into it. I just watched, and enjoyed what was in front of me, this little gift I'd been presented.

So although this week has been long and tiring, I found the beauty in what surrounded me and these are the things I'll remember.

Just made my first delivery to the '3 Bridges Cafe' in Tomatin, in the Scottish Highlands, just off the A9, half an hour south of Inverness.
It has just about the most stunning panoramic view one could wish for and sitting outside in the sunshine, I can enjoy a morning cappuccino in the quiet with all the birds in the trees. Absolutely lovely. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

So, we're coming home from Loch Lomond Shores Food & Drink Festival and stopped for fuel just outside Stirling and thinking about dinner, feet up then bed, I turned round to see Scottish history rockstar, YouTuber, comedian and now film star, Bruce Fummey, standing right behind me. I blinked and managed, I think, to get out more than just "is that youz aff the telly?" and had a very engaging half hour chat with Bruce. I thought if there's something about Scottish history that Bruce doesn't know, then it's not worth knowing. Thing is, he told me, he gets recognised every day, but he learns all these interesting little stories from local folk wherever he goes. He asked where we lived and I said Fife, thinking he was coming round for tea, but no, he told me he's playing Dunfermline on November 4th. It might clash with Christmas markets, but if I can make it, I will. Bruce is now the, clearly proud, owner of one of my mugs!

I'm especially pleased to have a new stockist, , on the A9 just outside of Perth and they have two beautiful heighlan' coos in their back field with a calf!

So off on another delivery run, this time to Clan Artisan in Stirling, pick up tea towels from Sprint Design, shoot over to Broughty Ferry and The Katz Pyjamas, then over the Tay Bridge to get to St Andrews for The Scottish Shop then I could stop and have a look at something nice, which was Kilconquhar Church on the Fife coast. It's a beautiful little spot on the map, the sun was out and I stopped just to take in the quiet beauty of it after my mad rush, chasing the clock again. No cows this time, just snippets of stories from the past take me think and wonder.
And tomorrow, off again first thing, Helensburgh Market in the Square and then The Market at Solsgirth Home Farm on Sunday.

Pitlochry to Braemar, through the Cairngorms, Ballater, Grantown on Spey, Forres, Brodie, Muir of Ord, Drumnadrochit, Spean Bridge, Glencoe, Tyndrum Callander and home.

Coming home from Skye, we spotted this lady having a good scratch on the fence just outside Spean Bridge. Her name is May and she's owned by Morris and Susan who run the Springburn B&B and croft cabins on the other side of the road. Springburn Farmhouse B&B & Stronaba Croft Cabins

But Stockbridge, much as I wanted to draw it, wasn't going to sell. So, the next move was Edinburgh Castle, and now, with my own photos:
