Right then folks, I hope you have all had a fab christmas and are gearing up for a awesone new year.

As promised I said we would start the meet and fish events again for 2026 so dust off the rods and work off that christmas puppy fat! as we have set a date, hopefully you can join us too......

The next group meet and fish event

Date - Saturday 3rd JAN 2026

(weather permitting!)

Time - Fish from 8AM - WHEN EVER YOU WISH!

High Tide is at 10 am APPROX

Location - Pevensey Bay aqua club - beaches behind.

I will be at the location from 8AM which will be at the sea road car park Pevensey Bay BN24 6EH

Please note this is a general non competitive meet and fish for people to meet others who fish from the page.

Everyone taking part will be responsible for themselves while fishing so please be considerate of others using the beach who may not be fishing.

Please leave no trace and take all rubbish away from the event after.

Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all time, under no circumstances are children to be left alone at the event.

Please source bait from local tackle shops Anglers Den and Tony's Tackle book in advance would prob be best thing to do then collect before fishing.

Ocean View Bakery and Restaurant will be open from 7am for your pastrys and grub ect in the morning

THE LAND OF THE LIVING ZOMBIE FISH!

Evening of firsts last night

Pic 1 - while unhooking this fellow i noticed a little cling on in its gob! I kinda knew what it was when i saw it but never thought i would see one in person.

Cymothoa exigua, the tongue-eating louse, is a parasitic isopod of the family Cymothoidae. It enters a fish through the gills. The female attaches to the tongue, while the male attaches to the gill arches beneath and behind the female. Females are 8–29 mm (0.3–1.1 in) long and 4–14 mm (0.16–0.55 in) wide. Males are about 7.5–15 mm (0.3–0.6 in) long and 3–7 mm (0.12–0.28 in) wide.[1] The parasite severs the blood vessels in the fish's tongue, causing the tongue to fall off (necrosis). It then attaches itself to the remaining stub of tongue and the parasite itself effectively serves as the fish's new "tongue".

The second whiting pic 2 was one cliff pulled in looked pretty messed up too poor fella!
