What a wonderful piece of modelling! Looking forward to the progress on this.

Slowly but steadily, I’m getting the Hammerhead closed up. I managed to squeeze three LEDs into prow: one for lighting the bridge and two as emitters for the fiber optics. The entire core section is build around a 7/8” OD aluminum tube for structural support. The model is already large and cumbersome to handle, and the bottle of Tamiya glue should hopefully give a sense of scale!

The various colors are due to my mixing of resins as I printed the pieces; as I use what’s in the vat, I just pour more of the next bottle in to replace it. The light grey and reddish grey are Phrozen Aqua 8K, which was my go-to resin until recently, when I switched to Phrozen Aqua Hyperfine (the dark grey and blue-green pieces). There’s still a couple of engineering challenges to overcome because I want to leave the rear section removable for transportation but I also need to make provisions for lighting and structural support.
