Just when you thought you'd have to wait another 11 months for all things Hanbury Countryside Show, we bring you ...

🌟 🚜 🐎💪 Debut Tractor Pull & Tractor Run Event 💪🐎🚜🌟

As a society we pride ourselves on supporting local charities.

Following the challenges of this year's show, we have decided to hold a debut event in October which we hope will enable us to provide additional support to these charities.

🤩 Saturday 12th October - an afternoon of tractor pulling and entertainment on the Showground.

🤩 Sunday 13th October - our inaugural Horse Power / Tractor Run.

Come along and enjoy a bacon roll and a coffee whilst admiring the vintage tractors, machinery and vehicles who will then participate.

We are hoping to support a new charity at this event, The Matt Gallagher Foundation which supports those suffering with MND. This will be in memory of a long-standing supporter and friend of the Show, Nikki Sharp.

Further details will be released shortly. We hope as many people as possible will come along to support this debut event.

We are nearly at our half way mark for the £1000 target we set on GoFundMe to keep the Herald in print.

It costs approximately £1500 per issue to print. This money is made up of donations from the parish council, sales of advertising space and any other donations we receive.

Thank you to everyone that has donated so far, but this £1000 isn’t the end… please share this link and help us to keep The Hanbury Herald a free publication for all of our parishioners. 🙏

When The Norbury Theatre Became Neverland!
by Lizzy Evans, Editor of The Hanbury Herald.

The Saturday matinee show at Norbury Theatre was the 2nd of 4 performances of Peter Pan Jr. showcasing the amazing talents of the Starbuck Theatre Youth Company. The students on stage ranged from 7 years old to 18 years old and they were all amazing. With no less than 53 students in the cast, the 4 performances had a change of characters, so many of them had to learn two lots of lines, songs or dances. Thats no mean feat, so hats off to them!

The Saturday matinee saw Annabelle Kavanagh as the star of the show, taking us all into the magical fantasy world of Neverland as Peter Pan with the help of the Darling Children Wendy, John and Michael, played by Ella Cerrone, Tessy Hawkesford and Georgia McGillen respectively. The voices of these children were what blew me away and the way they commanded the stage with nothing but professionalism. Captain Hook, played by Harrison Pavlovs and his sidekick Smee, Finn Baker, brought the comedy factor, again with great voices and confidence. The chorus of pirates, lost boys and brave girls were the icing on the cake with their choreography and song.

As for Tinkerbell, some may say she stole the show with her light dancing around the stage and in the audience. To pull off a show like this, she would say ‘all you need is faith, trust and a little bit of pixie dust’, but we all know you need an amazing team on stage and behind the stage. Sarah Pavlovs who heads up Starbuck Theatre Company directed and choreographed the show with props and costumes designed and created by Natalie Barker and Monica Cox.

Starbuck Theatre Company is now heading into its 10th year, in September 2014 it opened its doors with just a few students and now it is bursting at the seams with over 53 talented individuals. To celebrate their birthday they are putting on a concert at The Norbury Theatre, Droitwich on October 19th at 7:30pm. Past and present students will come together to perform songs from all of their past performances including Rent, Sister Act, Annie and so many more! Tickets are £10 each at www.norburytheatre.co.uk

Each year they stage a full scale musical with their Youth Company, there are also group classes in acting, LAMDA lessons 1:1, 1:2 or groups for students of all ages and Summer Schools. If you are interested in joining Starbuck Theatre Company in any capacity please contact or [email protected] for more information.

🎼 🌈 🎶 Jasper's Rainbow 🎼🌈🎶

Jasper’s Rainbow is an organisation set up by Holly and Jon Hawkesford following the birth and unexpected death of their baby boy, Jasper, in 2014. Since then, they have been fundraising for three charities which helped them greatly at the time Jasper was born and in the months and years since -
The Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society (SANDS), Edward’s Trust and SWFT charity (specifically the maternity bereavement fund at Warwick Hospital).

Jasper’s Rainbow has raised in excess of £36,000. Previous fundraising efforts have seen them and Jasper’s friends and family doing many things including running from London to Cardiff in a relay, organising and completing a team ultra triathlon in Wales, cycling from Warwick to Salcombe, writing and self publishing a children’s story, running cake sales and has even taken them to Westminster Abbey to meet The Princess of Wales and landed them on prime time television!

This year, to mark what would have been Jasper’s 10th birthday they have challenged their supporters to the challenge: 10 different fundraising events in the lead up to Jasper’s birthday.

The final event is a concert organised by Jasper’s Rainbow on 20th July at The Greig Hall, Alcester. This will be an evening of songs from musical theatre, featuring a line up of incredible singers (including some professional performers) accompanied by a live band.
