πŸ”ˆRound The Boards Season 3 Episode 38: Cab Direct Championship 2024 Review plus Awards πŸ”ˆ

πŸ—£ It is our final regular show of 2024 as we look back over the 2024 Cab Direct Championship season, and it was congratulations to Poole Pirates Speedway who took everything in front of them as they collected another treble in what was another fantastic season.

➑ They fittingly finished the season with victory over Oxford Speedway Cheetahs in the 2nd Leg of the Knockout Cup Final as the curtain finally came down on another scintillating British Speedway season.

πŸ‘‰ We present our awards, as well as trying to pick a combined 1-7 Team of the Season in what has been a highly competitive Championship. We take one final look at the predictions league and announce our overall winner for 2024.

πŸ‘€ There will be another Christmas Quiz special but we would like to thank everybody who has supported us, followed us and listened to us on a weekly basis as we round out our 3rd season of the podcast. Its great news for all fans as we will be back in February 2025 to start season number 4. All views are our own. πŸ‘Š

πŸ—³ RIDER OF THE WEEK RESULTS πŸ—³

πŸ† It's time for our final Rider of the Week result for 2024 and the final batch of fixtures we focussed on were those performances between Monday 7th October - Sunday 13th October, and the final award was won by Belle Vue Speedway and Redcar Bears Speedway reserve Jake Mulford racing #72.

🐻 Jake came out on top in the votes with 54.13% as he actually guested for his Premiership side, scoring a 4 ride 12 point maximum as the C**ts finished in style with a big win against the Sheffield/Scunthorpe side.

☠ Tobias Vangsted Thomsen picked up 2nd place with 38.59% as he finished the season in style, scoring 10+2/6 against Oxford Cheetahs as the Poole Pirates Speedway wrapped up the Championship title in style. Many doubted the inclusion of the Dane, but he has proved what a vital cog he has been in the wheel.

🐴 It was 3rd place for Belle Vue C**t, Chad Wirtzfeld, as he made a fantastic return to British Speedway in the bottom tier, finishing with a very impressive 16+2/7 as the C**ts finished 2nd in the NDL title race.

πŸ—£ Congratulations to Jake for picking up the final award of the season, and his inclusion at Belle Vue Aces will once again give him the opportunity to shine at the top table. A final thank you to everybody who has voted this season, and contributed to the winners across 2024. Stay with us in 2025 as more awards are to be dished out across British Speedway.

πŸ—³ RIDER OF THE WEEK RESULTS πŸ—³

πŸ† Slightly later than billed, we bring you our penultimate Rider of the Week result for 2024 and we were looking at performances between Monday 30th September - Sunday 6th October and it was a win for Oxford Speedway star Luke Killeen Racing #54.

πŸ† Luke came out on top with 69.32% of the votes after a match winning 12+1/5 for the Cheetahs at home to Poole Pirates in the 1st Leg of the Championship Grand Final which set them up nicely to push Poole all the way in the 2nd Leg. He then also went on to record a 4th place finish in the British U19 Final on his home track of Oxford in a meeting curtailed due to the weather.

☠ Zach Cook Racing once again came in 2nd with 18.94% of the votes after his 11+2/5 help secure the BSN Final for the Poole Pirates Speedway against the Scunthorpe Scorpions. He then went on to score 9+1/5 as he ensured the Pirates stayed on the coat tails of the Cheetahs going into the 2nd Leg of the Grand Final.

πŸ¦‚ 3rd place went to Ace Pijper who secured the British Under 19 title, after scoring 11 points from his opening 4 rides, and beating Luke Harrison to the title on countback.

πŸ—£ Congratulations go to Luke in a season that has seen him ride in all 3 leagues as he continues his rise in British Speedway.

πŸ”ˆRound The Boards Season 3 Episode 37: National Development League 2024 Review plus Awards πŸ”ˆ

πŸ—£ It's the turn of the WSRA National Development League to take centre stage as we review the season, pick our combined 1-7 as well as presenting our end of season awards. Congratulations go to Leicester Lions Speedway Cubs as they took the championship, losing only 1 meeting during the 2024 season.

➑ Poole Pirates Speedway took a major step towards the Championship KO Cup as they took a resounding victory over Oxford Speedway Cheetahs, who were severely hampered by an injury to Scott Nicholls Racing. They will battle it out on Wednesday evening at Poole in the final meeting for 2024.

πŸ‘‰ The first of the 2025 signings started to take place as the Premiership teams announced their rising stars for 2025, whilst there was also further news for Oxford Cheetahs and Berwick Bandits Speedway fans.

πŸ‘€ It was our final Rider of the Week result for 2024, whilst we also continued with the last few predictions of the season as we edge closer to our winter hibernation ahead of a new season in 2025. All views are our own. πŸ‘Š

πŸ”ˆRound The Boards Season 3 Episode 36: Premiership and SON 2024 Review plus Awards πŸ”ˆ

πŸ—£ This week see's the Rowe Motor Oil Premiership take centre stage as we look back over a 2024 season which saw League success for Belle Vue Speedway as well as a KO Cup victory for Sheffield Speedway. It's a chance for the boys to firmly debate who will be receiving the awards as the Round The Boards Premiership 1-7 is revealed.

➑ We also cast our eyes over the SON which took place in Manchester as Great Britain once again reigned supreme to defeat Australia in the final.

πŸ‘‰ It was a big week for Poole Pirates Speedway as they landed the Cab Direct Championship in 2024 as they defeated Oxford Speedway in the 2nd Leg of their final, and prepare to face each other again this week to see who will lift the KO Cup.

πŸ‘€ We still have our Rider of the Week poll ongoing, and it was a deserved victory for Luke Killeen Racing #54, as we nominate more riders for the week just gone. It would appear Rob will be taking the predictions league once again, but there are still more meetings for us to cast our eye over. All of this plus our usual features in another packed show. All views are our own. πŸ‘Š

πŸ—³ RIDER OF THE WEEK RESULTS πŸ—³

πŸ† It's a lighter week as we approach the latter stages of the season but these Rider of the Week awards keep coming as we look at performances between Monday 23rd September - Sunday 29th September and it was a win for Belle Vue Speedway rider Dan Bewley.

♣️ Dan came out on top with 47.66% of the votes after he secured a full 15 point maximum in the 1st Leg of the Premiership Grand Final to give the Aces a significant lead as they travelled to Leicester Lions Speedway for the all important 2nd Leg.

☠ Zach Cook Racing Zach Cook came in 2nd with 38.47% of the votes as he also secured a full 15 point maximum in a final, as he helped Poole Pirates Speedway to victory at Scunthorpe to secure another BSN Series trophy, backing up what they had already won in 2023.

πŸ¦‚ In 3rd place it was Luke Harrison Racing #9 who collected 13.86% of the votes and can count himself very unlucky to come up against very stiff competition as he ensured he finished the season well with a fine 12/6 in the Scunthorpe Scorpions Speedway home defeat to the Pirates.

πŸ—£ Congratulations go to Dan who has enjoyed a stellar season, and capped it off by finishing 4th in the world in the chase for the world title.

We want to try and help the family through this awful time by raising funds to help at this time.

Any donations that are made will go directly to the family.

Any loving comments will be gladly received.

Rest in Peace Jay, you will be sadly missed!

πŸ”ˆRound The Boards Season 3 Episode 35: SGP/SGP2/SGP3/SGP4 + SEC Reviews, SGP Challenge Review & Premiership Final πŸ”ˆ

πŸ—£ It's the return of the 3 amigos, the 3 musketeers, Sooty Sweep and Sue, George Zippy and Bungle, even if Rob doesn't know who these people are, but the trio are finally back together to talk speedway.

➑ Its an action packed show as we talk over all the important meetings of the season which see us welcome Brady Kurtz Racing Anders Thomsen Racing Dominik Kubera Racing and Max Fricke Racing back into the SGP for 2025 as they all make it through the SGP Challenge from Pardubice.

πŸ‘‰ Belle Vue Speedway become the Premiership Champions for the 2nd time in 3 years, defeating Leicester Lions Speedway, whilst Oxford Speedway Cheetahs build up a big lead to defend in the 2nd leg at Poole Pirates Speedway in the Championship. The Pirates do pick up some silverware though as they become BSN Champions for the 2nd season in a row, defeating Scunthorpe Scorpions Speedway.

πŸ‘€ Congratulations go to Ace Pijper as he becomes British U19 Champion in a rain affected final. We also look back over the SGP, SGP2, SGP3 and SGP4 in our end of season review whilst talking over the credibility of the SEC Series. All of this plus our usual features and a lot more in a packed out show as we wind down for 2024. All views are our own. πŸ‘Š

πŸ“£ TEAM OF THE MONTH (SEPTEMBER) πŸ“£

☠️ September has been an important month in terms of gauging who is in the best form as we approach the important, trophy winning matches across all 3 leagues. It almost feels like groundhog day, as season on season, the Poole Pirates Speedway produce the goods when it matters, and they have picked up their second Team of the Month award in 2024.

➑️ Having ridden in 4 meetings in the month of September, Poole picked up a fine 3 away wins during this period, as well as a home victory as well, maintaining an unbeaten record for the month, and it was a short lived discussion between Nathan and Cain as they announced the winner.

🏁 The month began with a 50-40 away victory at Scunthorpe Scorpions Speedway as they made their way into the Championship KO Cup Final, and joined the Oxford Cheetahs as they continued to chase a treble in 2024. They then began their League play offs with a comfortable home victory over Workington Comets before travelling to Cumbria and winning once gain to move into the final, once again against Oxford Cheetahs. The month ended with a huge victory away at Scunthorpe Scorpions once again, as they had one hand on the BSN Final, a trophy they also won in 2023.

πŸ‘ Its a massive congratulations to Poole Pirates as they continue on their quest for 3 trophies and we look forward to seeing the resolution of the season to see if they can achieve this goal.
