Our Story

It was a Sunday afternoon in the early summer of 1993 when I fully fell in love with music. I’d been flirting with it a while - a cassette album here, copies of Smash Hits and Melody Maker, a vinyl compilation chosen especially to soundtrack my seventh birthday party. But it was a Sunday afternoon in 1993, when aged 12 I heard Manic Street Preachers’ From Despair To Where on the Radio 1 Chart Show and lost my heart completely, deciding a life in music was for me.

Hi, I’m Sarah Lay and I run Noble and Wild - a music agency built with independent spirit to support musicians, bands and labels to find fans and amplify their reach. My life in music includes being a music journalist - including five years as editor of louderthanwar.com, and writing for publications including Loud&Quiet, Drowned In Sound, and Louder Than War magazine; as a broadcaster including a year co-producing The Rumble for Radio Andra; and co-founding independent record label Reckless Yes.

Noble and Wild brings together my experience in the music industry with my career in digital experience. I support artists and labels who are ready to grow their success while retaining their creative control, who want to find build sustainable careers through finding their fans and looking after that audience. My packages reflect what I’ve found works but are always tailored to your sound, your goals, and your budget.

I’m a dreamer and a doer, and love spending my time on remote Scottish islands as much as I do catching bands in defiant music venues. I’m a fan of gin and black coffee (although not necessarily taken in that order), and in forging my own path rather than doing what is expected. I love living a creative life, a family life, a gentle and kind life, a noble and wild life.
