Draycott & Long Eaton Table Tennis Club (the East Midlands' biggest table tennis centre), will be starting a weekly group for wheelchair users in January. 🏓 ♿️

Led by a licenced coach (UKCC certified, DBS, insured etc.), it'll be a small group comprising experienced wheelchair players of any age, teenage athletes looking for opportunities to switch sports, or beginners who would like to try out table tennis for the first time.

Bats and balls will be provided. The venue is wheelchair accessible, has accessible parking bays, an accessible wc and changing rooms, wheelchair friendly table tennis tables and a social area for relatives/carers. 🏓 ♿️

It's a new group and an opportunity to be "on the ground floor" in setting its direction. Please call or email to express your interest, get further details or arrange a visit.

£200,000 grant to Derby charity will help disabled people become digital savvy

More than 1,200 disabled and older people in Derbyshire will be given greater access to health and social care services after a £200,000 The National Lottery grant to Disability Direct.

The charity’s chief executive, Amo Raju, said:

“We have long worried that older and disabled people have become marginalised because so many services can only be booked online.

“We wanted to remove inequality and ensure that everyone is able to access health and social care appointments.

“Therefore, we are going to develop the skills, experience and knowledge to access the online community, independently.”
