Something to get lost in, to reminisce and ruminate, or just to be present with. Something for the end of the night, to soothe us to slumber.

BOOTLEG THURSDAY is back....

For the past three months Daverage J Normal and Riigs have been collaborating on a whole heap of music. The music has unfurled in a myriad of different ways and directions with the focus being the joy of collaborating, creating and now performing these tunes. We can’t just sit on them though and have decided to release one a week for as long as we want to. Listen, hopefully dance a bit and even repost if you feel like it.

In moments of reflection, when we consider how fleeting life can seem, we may acknowledge past errors, the wrong choices, or maybe just what could have been. None of us would be who we are 'now' without walking the path we have, and points we all consider how different our path could be. That is what the vocal in this says to me, perhaps lost love, broken friendships, the acceptance and redemption therein. A thoughtful moment of lucidity.

BOOTLEG THURSDAY!

For the past three months Daverage J. Normal and Riigshave been collaborating on a whole heap of music.

Leaning into what was current affairs at the time (shizz moves so quick) a snippet of one voice and one opinion captures the "utter b*ll*cks" of that, then, and now, more so perhaps.

This track is in our live set, fast paced drums and driving bass lines, enough to make your head spin and hopefully distract from the general spectacle, or **itshow. We hope you enjoy, we hope you dance, we hope it makes you feel better, even if only for 3 and half minutes. Thank you and all the best!!!

Joe Prang and I met up for the first time just before Christmas 24. Our chosen venue was a bar in Farringdon, London. Joe travelled down from Northampton which is a serious effort, and dare I say bold move, especially for a few festive beers with a relative stranger.

Anyway.... we chatted about music, obviously, life, music, and more music. We decided to collaborate on some tracks and see where it took us. The beer flowed, the chat continued and lat orders rang out and thus home time.

Part 2 of 2.

We've all been, or at least many of us have, on the night bus back from wherever we've been. Way back in 1999/2000 (ish), my regular night bus home was the 25 from Romford to Forest Gate, or Oxford Circus to Forest Gate.

A bus filled with post-night revellers, the drunk, the tripping, the gurners, some folk returning from or going to work, I've been all of these at some point, in various combinations, but not for long time, honestly. Some people on there way to the next 'thing', and some folk just wanting to get home.

Here's to the NiIteBus, remembered through some rose tinted spectacles.

BOOTLEG THURSDAYS!

For the past three months Daverage J Normal and Riigs have been collaborating on a whole heap of music.

One of the joys in freely collaborating is letting the music take you in the direction it wants to go. It creates unexpected outcomes and allows for exploring creative ideas that might not have been initially apparent. A literal case of going with the flow, without judgement, and enjoying the process. Listen, hopefully dance a bit and even repost if you feel like it.

Cherry on Top was one of the first we made and sums up the energy we tried to bring. It also showcases Daverage’s amazing bass playing which has become such a feature of our music.

Me, I hopped on a train and was home in under an hour, or thereabouts, which is one of the benefits of living within the southern borders of the M25 and having easy access to City Thameslink.

Joe, however, had a slightly more challenging journey home, and I quote...

"I had a bit of a nightmare on the trains, none directly back here, sorted it in the end via a stupid expensive taxi. Rural life innit"

So, here is NiteTrain. Part 1 of 2, and no doubt more to come.

Thanks Joe, beers up your way next time eh?

Yo peeps!

I may have been quiet / invisible on FB and elsewhere, but thats not to say I haven't been keeping busy.

I've been doing little else other than writing and creating, just not shouting about it as much, or at all.

So, here I am (👋) and boy do I have a corker of a collaborative EP to share from my good (or bad) self and guided by the soft whispers and unnerving sound design of Liberated Turmoil.

We present UNIQUELY SPECIAL.

Blending dark electronic textures with spoken-word vocals. Drawing from techno, breakbeat, and experimental electronica, these two tracks push the boundaries of rhythm and atmosphere, offering an immersive and introspective experience.

More for Less is a shadowy, pulsing composition where both artists' voices intertwine. Its slow-burning rhythms carry trap influences, yet the warped, distorted textures create an otherworldly tension. The lyrics echo a restless desire—an internal contradiction of wanting less but yearning for more.

The title track, Uniquely Special, takes a lighter yet deeply contemplative turn. Ethereal melodies and atmospheric bass create a vast sonic landscape, mirroring the existential wonder of humanity’s place in the universe. The spoken-word delivery enhances the weight of the words, confronting the paradox of feeling both insignificant and extraordinary.

With these two tracks, Uniquely Special captures the contrast between tension and release, isolation and wonder—embracing the duality of existence through sound.
