Artificial Physiognomy - The Future of Visionary Beauty ✨ ___________________ ➤ Makeup Artist / Concept Design / Digital Artist - Myself #_sarahdaviesmua_ ___________________ During my studies @uclanuni on the MA Design course, I intended to utilise my current creative skillset of makeup artistry and concept design whilst obtaining new skills which in the near future could be part of the makeup artist role. I decided to delve into animation. It is becoming evident that the world of CGI and animation is merging into our industry and our job roles, whether its artificial makeup application in filters, films, creature design, or upon photoshoots and catalogues using CGI models and virtual influencers. Courses of digital makeup artistry are already taking place in the USA and I foresee that it is not long till this will be a specialised sector a makeup artist could conduct as a career. The project highlights the psychological effects of the unrealistic and ever-changing beauty standards heavily imposed on society, and how it affects mental health globally. Conducted through a narrative and fabricated character named Aaliyah, and their world, set in the distant future. Suppositionally, depicting how it could evolve in a toxic and grotesque manner through an artistically animated concept, infused with elements of dark art and an editorial composure, whilst being influenced by body modification performed throughout the world and diverse cultures. This is to disturb the onlookers, question the body of work and reflect on their own intimate battle with their insecurities brought on by the opinions of others regarding what is attractive. “Society programs us, through the subliminal messages of popular culture, to believe that we’re not truly desirable... unless we adhere to the current standards of physical beauty.” (Williamson, 1993). ___________________ For more information about my MA project visit the link below: https://linktr.ee/aaliyahhorizon ____
