Happy Birthday to our dancing queen Irene! 🎉 Turning 92 years young today, Irene has been fundraising for our wounded veterans and in loving memory of her husband who served in the Royal Artillery & Lancashire Fusiliers through her love of dancing. 💃

Irene, who has dementia has been dancing alongside her daughter, Jeannette, donning her favourite tutu, wearing her husband's military medals and learning a military salute, which caught the attention of Help for Heroes Patron JJ Chalmers and Strictly superstar Amy Dowden.

It has been a difficult year for Irene who battled sepsis at the beginning of 2020 and was then diagnosed with dementia just before the first lockdown. But nothing has stopped Irene from dancing and raising money for our heroes - a true inspiration!
