Ride safe!

Further Wiltshire BikeSafe safety initiative dates have been announced.

There are three available spaces left for the event which was supported by representatives from the iAM RoadSmart road safety charity and Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.

The next sessions are due to take place on Sunday 28th September and Sunday 5th October.

Wiltshire BikeSafe is a police-led national motorcycle safety initiative that aims to reduce the number of motorcycle casualties on UK roads.

By attending BikeSafe with Wiltshire Police, riders can improve their skills, knowledge and hazard awareness.

The session will run from 8.30am to 4pm at Wiltshire Police HQ London Road, Devizes.

Great idea!

In an aim to reduce waste costs amongst our 29 charity shops, Dorothy House is excited to be collaborating with local makers, creatives and stylists to develop an exciting new retail umbrella brand, called Threads for Care, launching on 15 September as part of Sustainable September. Threads for Care will offer upcycled and reworked pieces created from preloved and unsaleable items from our retail waste (a reduction in landfill) and transformed into beautiful new sustainable collections.

One of the creatives we’re working with is local hand screen-printer and applique artist Amy Laws from There's Only One, who creates bespoke pieces entirely from secondhand fabrics. In this exciting collaboration with the Hospice, Amy will be reworking t-shirts, hoodies, and shirts from our rag waste bins into a limited range of 100 bespoke t-shirts that will be sold in selected Dorothy House shops with all profits going to support Hospice care in our community.

Amy’s t-shirts will drop in store on 15 September and can be found in Bath Argyle Street, Frome Clothes and our Find Ubiety lifestyle shop, located on London Road in Bath. Be sure to follow .uk on Instagram where you watch Amy’s creative process.

Don't worry, we aren't swapping G-WLTS for this beautiful balloon. Instead, Bath Hot Air Balloon Club have very kindly created this balloon to host flights and attend events to fundraise for us!

Birthday 35 - wow! 🎂

More 35th birthday celebrations are just around the corner, and you're all invited!

Summer at the base is a fun-filled day, taking place on 16 August.

Held on the front lawn of our operational airbase, you'll have a prime view of our helipad and helicopter (subject to operations) as our crew attend lifesaving missions.

We have some super speakers this year, the full list and the timetable is below. Remember this is a free event.

As well as our Visitor Centre and Museum at the village hall we will have stands from supporting trades and organisations and some excellent teas, coffees and cakes. It is also an excellent opportunity to meet the Bustard team and discuss volunteering and getting involved in conserving the UK’s only globally endangered bird.

It's National Blood Week and we want to recognise the 850 blood donation jobs already completed this year by the team at Severn Freewheelers.

Throughout 2025, the over 100 volunteers covering our local area will continue to work every day to provide quick and safe transportation so that patient can receive the life-saving treatments and blood donations that they need.🩸
