Too often, productivity becomes equated with value. Society teaches us that what we accomplish determines our worth. If we base our self-worth on our productivity, we ignore factors beyond our control.

Chronic illness has taught me that despite my best efforts, there will sometimes be factors I can’t control. Our bodies are not machines; sometimes, we have bad days when we can’t do much, which is perfectly fine. We all need to take care of our bodies. Sometimes, doing nothing IS productive. Just remember you are more than a to-do list.
