Barbie hit the screens yesterday and wiped the box office sales.

Beating Openheimer which I think is a vastly better show.

But why is Barbie so powerful and how can it impact sales for your business?

I bet you can’t help notice the big marketing potential this new Barbie film brings to the table.

Like many trends, you notice them but never get around to taking part. I'm guilty too!

But here is my sales from Barbie advice:

As a small agency I’ve always struggled with the fact we don’t have 20 web developers or 10 film makers. It used to make me feel like we can’t compete.

But I learned years back that being small has MASSIVE advantages over larger companies.

For instance. When you work with us you get our A team every time. Not our B team or our trainees. Where other companies will throw in what they have available at the time.

We get to pivot earlier - we already used AI last year before this years boom of GPT. Larger companies take months and in some cases years to pivot.

Whether it's your personal service or just how you do things. You being you has worth.

Make sure you let people know you’re small to define your brand's idenpoint pretending to be a huge company if at heart you’re not — plus you get to flex on personal service and team.

You kind of get where I’m going here. When it comes to buying anything, most people will watch a video about the product or service to get what we call social proofing.
This is basic humanistic stuff. We are wired by our DNA to be in tribes. We don’t like to operate as lone wolves.
This means that our decisions are usually based on a sample set of social proofing. We will weigh up testimonials or recommendations from others like us (our tribe type) that match our values.
Video is the best way (no exceptions) to convey trust and confidence in a service or product.

I don’t get much chances now I’m older and have a lot more responsibilities to simply get out and just enjoy the amazing gear we have.

It’s nice to have our team pull me back into what was my first love ❤️ photography.

I started with the worst gear back in the 80s and now our agency has some of the best the industry has to offer.

It started out small; I ‘Borrowed’ a camcorder from my dad as a 10 year old and started making movies with my friends — Fast forward to 43 and I’m still obsessed with learning how to get better.

It’s nights like this out in the rain, filming and making video for the sheer art sake.

It’s important to get out and spend nights like this more. Grateful to have a team that stretch my ability as much as I do theirs.
