Gethin Jones finished his run as Prince Gethin in Sleeping Beauty at Cardiff’s New Theatre Cardiff this Sunday, we caught up with the man himself back in November to discuss swapping studio lights for stage spotlights.

Speaking about the role on social media just this week, he said:

"The feeling of being on stage is incredibly special - so immediate and bright! Things don’t always go to plan - My goodness, we’ve laughed so much on and off stage during the past month or so!

It’s completely out of my comfort zone, I’m very grateful to the whole team for the their knowledge, support and encouragement!

Panto is a joy, people (of all ages) laughing and smiling as they leave the theatre.. and maybe just for a few hours forgetting the serious part of life."

We catch up with Gethin Jones this panto season. Swapping studio lights for stage spotlights in Sleeping Beauty at Cardiff’s New Theatre.

With its final performance tonight, The Riverfront Rapunzel serves up plenty of generational jokes in the Newport theatre’s 20th pantomime since it opened in 2004.

Pop tunes, TikTok-style moves and plenty of “he’s behind you!” and “oh no it isn’t!” ensures the party atmosphere continues throughout.
