Cannock officers are investigating an incident which took place around 6pm on Friday (3 February) at Cannock Park, Stafford Road next to the Leisure Centre where a teenage male was assaulted and knocked unconscious. Six teenagers have been arrested and bailed in relation to this, but officers are appealing for witnesses or any information which may assist the investigation. If you have any information that may be helpful to the police, please call 101 quoting incident number 669 of 03/02/2023.

Dogs will be banned from more children's play areas and tennis courts in part of Staffordshire, under a new control order. The order covers areas of Cannock Chase after the issue was raised in a recent public consultation. Cannock Chase District Council leader Olivia Lyons backed the new rules after a family member's dog was attacked. Cannock Chase Council has been awarded more than £3m for projects designed to boost the local economy and businesses. The funding is part of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and will cover the current and next two financial years. A fourth teenager has been arrested after a retired teacher was killed in a hit-and-run crash on New Year's Day. Joan Hill, 73, died at the scene on the A5 near Longford Island in Cannock at about 16:00 GMT.
