Or so thought there was a nest that had fallen out. Looks like it was actually a bat box due to the bottom entry. Don't worry - contacted the council and wildlife trust who look after this woodland and they didn't mind me repairing it as it was an old one that they weren't tracking. Come back for part 2 to see what else am making!

Photo dump for May! We finally moved house πŸ₯³ And now I can start on the huuuuge DIY project list πŸ™ŒπŸ» I've started on the kitchen and the garden, I've also got a tap to replace and a bathroom cabinet that is doing my head in... You'll see why when I get to it! πŸ˜‚ Hopefully you've had a fab May as well. Really looking forward to getting projects done, summer evenings and settling in this month β˜€οΈ

I can do my monthly recaps without hiding all the Moving House content from you now! We had such nice weather this April, lots of dog walks, gardening and un-DIYing the house in preparation for the move. Might actually get back to projects in my recaps from May onwards!

Makers Central 2025! This year I spent my weekend volunteering with the awesome crew running a scrap wood build challenge. Armed with a collection of my scrap - prepped by my Dad - thanks! - and some tools, we let the kids design and make whatever they wanted. kindly gifted me a cordless glue gun, mini rotary tool and vacuum for clean up as well as batteries and charger - thank you! The kids had a go at engraving, carving or just gluing and decorating to make their creations. In fact I was so focussed on my stand, I took photos of everyone's makes... And not much else! It was so awesome to catch up with old friends in the Hilton bar, and make new ones too.☺️ Hopefully next year I can be a little more organised and y'know, not move house 2 days beforehand πŸ˜… it's been a whirlwind! Until next year!

I thought I would do a round up of January now that I'm back from holiday. Thought it might be a few photos as I didn't do loads.... Turns out I did A LOT πŸ˜… Think I might be doing one of these every month so I can see what I've actually accomplished and what fun things I've done! How was your January?

I have a sign I'd like to make as a gift, and the best way is using a scroll saw. So I've borrowed Claire's (for those new here, this was our joint DIY account!). After setting up a new blade (and adjusting the blade holders... with a hammer... gently!!) I did a few practice cuts. I have the fancy blades for plywood so next time I'll switch it out to cut them. I have loaaads of scrap plywood so will be fun to use on this sign. I also got some 9mm MDF for Β£2 in B&Q's bargain bucket for the rest. So follow along to see if I can learn to scroll saw! πŸ˜…

*ok technically not my first time, I used it for once for my mini pallet cutting board but that was like 4 years ago πŸ˜‚

Since I can't post a reel, here's a sneaky peak at what I've been up to in between busy weekends and work - the cricket boards of course! They're almost finished, just the cleats to mount and trim to attach after one more round of stain πŸ˜€ I can't wait to see them in the wall in the club house. Who remembers when I started these? πŸ™ƒ
