Cricket Honours Boards! I realised I never posted some beauty shots - after I installed them it was Christmas eve evening and I just wanted to go home and have a drink haha
βš’οΈ
If this is your first time seeing them - my friend's cricket club commissioned two new honours boards to match their existing ones. This was a great experience trying to colour match finishes that have been exposed to the sun for 10+ years! I enjoyed making my very first commission and all the problem solving that came along the way. Including handling them - they're 1.9m long!!
🏏
Cricket season is starting again soon and I can't wait to see all the names printed on - they have a bit of catching up to do!

As if it's been 5 years since lockdown began! I didn't start this account right away in 2020, it took a couple more lockdowns before Claire and I became DIYish. We threw ourselves into sewing in April 2020. Teaching ourselves to sew with patterns for the first time to make scrubs for the NHS was the first step. I had been watching a lot of YouTube whilst sewing - made awesome crafts and builds as a friend duo, and I thought: we could do that too! So, in early 2021, we did! Eventually Claire had to move away in 2023 - don't worry we're still best of friends! You can catch her over on . I carried on with my own projects ever since. And that is the story of lockdown > DIYish! We started posting regularly on IWD so technically that's when our birthday is - but I was busy with DIY SOS that weekend so here we are - Happy 4th Birthday to DIYish! πŸ₯³ I can't wait to share what I've got in store for this year! 😁

In total contrast to January, I did absolutely nothing DIY related in February! We went to Borovets, Bulgaria again for some snowboarding, put for drinks (yes that is donkey Kong between the glasses), I got into meal prepping my lunches - much easier and healthier than grabbing a meal deal or rushing round packing something in the morning. I got my dad some smirdex mesh sandpaper for his birthday, to go with the new 150mm sander he got himself. And finally the sun came out right at the end! 😎 How was your February? I'm looking forward to hopefully sharing about some stuff behind the scenes πŸ‘€

I thought I would do a round up of January now that I'm back from holiday. Thought it might be a few photos as I didn't do loads.... Turns out I did A LOT πŸ˜… Think I might be doing one of these every month so I can see what I've actually accomplished and what fun things I've done! How was your January?

I have a sign I'd like to make as a gift, and the best way is using a scroll saw. So I've borrowed Claire's (for those new here, this was our joint DIY account!). After setting up a new blade (and adjusting the blade holders... with a hammer... gently!!) I did a few practice cuts. I have the fancy blades for plywood so next time I'll switch it out to cut them. I have loaaads of scrap plywood so will be fun to use on this sign. I also got some 9mm MDF for Β£2 in B&Q's bargain bucket for the rest. So follow along to see if I can learn to scroll saw! πŸ˜…

*ok technically not my first time, I used it for once for my mini pallet cutting board but that was like 4 years ago πŸ˜‚

Since I can't post a reel, here's a sneaky peak at what I've been up to in between busy weekends and work - the cricket boards of course! They're almost finished, just the cleats to mount and trim to attach after one more round of stain πŸ˜€ I can't wait to see them in the wall in the club house. Who remembers when I started these? πŸ™ƒ

It's day 7 today of the DIY SOS build near Kidderminster. We are having a great time doing everything from woodworking, wheel barrowing into the skip, skirting and architrave, demolition, tidying up, floorboards and more! It's been fun to work alongside the trades and we're learning so much too ☺️ Last push today and Wednesday to get this ready for reveal day on Thursday! We've been behind and playing catch up from the beginning but we can do it!! πŸ’ͺ🏻πŸ’ͺ🏻 Becky has joined us for a couple of days too!

πŸ› οΈ PALLETS! πŸ› οΈ
As I publish my old content to Facebook and The Other App, I was thinking about how many pallet projects I've completed over the years - here are most of them!
1. My pallet bench
2. Raised beds
3. My very first pallet project, herb garden step
4. Wall planter
5. + 6. Cold frame/netted cage for my strawberries
7. End grain cutting board - yes really, from one pallet plank!
8. Kyzer's toy box
9. Bath tray
10. Kyzer "helping" me build the pallet bench!
Which one is your favourite? What do you make out of pallets?

Hi! πŸ‘‹πŸ» I should probably introduce myself, I'm Chloe and I do DIY...ish! I love pallet projects, all things DIY, learning new skills, woodworking, crafts, repairing and taking you along for the journey. Sprinkle in some funny (I hope!) videos between projects and tutorials. Maybe I'll inspire you to pick up a power tool and have a go yourself πŸ’ͺ🏻 I've been making DIY content over on Instagram since 2021 and have finally made it to Facebook! Say hello in the comments and let me know what kind of projects you'd like to see, I'll try to find them in my reels archive 😁
