My Secret Santa project! I made scroll saw art of beloved cat, Fluff. I was so pleased with how it came out ☺️ you can watch the whole build on YouTube. It contains a minor maker breakdown, cute dog appearances, the great British weather, a special guest and me doing a whole project based on a skill I'd never done before... You can see how that goes, in the video! And you can watch Phil's reaction to receiving it at the end of his build video.

No, I didn't DIY this! With 3 doors and over 10 windows I was not about to do my whole house, just before winter πŸ˜… The wood frames were crumbling, several of the double glazing panes had gone, and the glass was so thin. It sounded like the kids outside were playing in our living room! The guys at THM Home Improvements smashed through our house in 2 days and what a difference it has made! The immediate change in noise and warmth was crazy. The hallway has more natural light and the white internals really brighten up the rooms. This wasn't cheap but it's our forever home and a great investment. What do you think of our colour choice? Was green the right colour?

🌟🌲 Christmas card bunting! 🌲🌟
The last few years I've not had time to do lots of fun Christmassy things but this year I am determined to do some crafts and baking 😊 I made this bunting for my stairs in our old house but I thought it would look nice in our new dining room. And no, I couldn't be bothered to find my knife which would have made it a lot easier! Please excuse the undecorated walls - the previous owner had a huge dresser there before πŸ˜… another project I'll get round to at some point...

It really has! I'm not the most confident person but I definitely gained more confidence from doing DIY SOS, putting myself out of my comfort zone, not to mention all the new skills I've picked up, and the friendships too! It all started when I saw Jasmine's Instagram story, where she was signing up to the trades day for the Essex build in 2023... We'd never met in person until day 1 of the build, although we lived fairly close. And we've been DIY buds ever since 😊 We like to confuse some of the tradies as they thought we were full time joiners πŸ€«πŸ˜…
It also led to working with on an episode of his own show! And gave me the opportunity to try some of the trades tools and made me want to invest in a track saw! Not forgetting the amazing feeling when you hand the property back and how grateful and appreciative they are 🫢🏻 What a blast this past couple of years has been! I hope they get renewed for another season so we can build more things and help more people! 😁

Which one do you need to do? It's suddenly dark cold winter in the UK and it's that time of year where energy saving tips come in the most useful. Doing all of these little DIYs to the door has made our hallway significantly warmer! I couldn't believe how much hot air was travelling through the small holes in the silicone.
1. Weather strip - this is supposed to be used for replacing the door seal but I used it inside and out to try to bridge the gaps around the edge of the door
2. Silicone - remove the existing stuff and redo, or for a quicker job just fill in the holes
3. Door curtain - these are ideal for overnight when it's coldest and darkest to help trap the warm air inside the house
4. Draught excluder - stops warm air leaving through the bottom of the door where seals may not be good.
And yes we are getting new windows and doors in a little bit 😁 but until then I'm trying to keep the house as warm as possible! Let me know which ones you need to do in your house

I'm so excited to see the Children in Need special of this Thursday 13th November at 9pm BBC one. Hope you love watching it as much as I enjoyed building it! Maybe my face or the back of my head will make an appearance this time!
