Navigator Update

There have been a number of events in the sale of the Navigator. In the process, both of the potential buyers have now dropped out. We are concerned that the Navigator will not find a buyer and are therefore of the opinion that a community-based option should be considered.

We are therefore organising a public meeting at 7pm on the 11th of July in the Memorial Hall. The agenda will cover the following items:

Consideration of the different ownership models and what we have learnt from other local community pub efforts
Selection of the best option for the Navigator / Little Shelford
Discussion of the sequence of events needed
Next Steps
The Parish Council are very aware of how strongly a number of people feel about the Navigator and hope to see as many people as possible at the meeting.

The details are

CJP a small local Charity has a new Play Scheme Manager, welcome Suzie Davies! So, we are busy getting ready for the Summer 2024 Scheme (29th July to 9th August) but they need more summer play scheme temporary staff. See details of our role in the attached advert or visit the Cambridge Joint Playschemes website for an application form. Working with young people with learning difficulties is incredibly rewarding so don't hesitate to apply!

We do not want the Oxford-Cambridge rail link as described in the East West Rail Company's Route Update Announcement and subsequent refinements. We call for these plans to be paused and for a full, transparent and independent review.

The Parish Council wishes to thank all the residents who attended the Annual Meeting on Monday night.

An update on the Navigator was given.

After a question and answer session, there was a show of hands on whether the parish council should trigger the full moratorium. The meeting was strongly in favour of not triggering the moratorium.

More information can be found on the website if you click on the link below.

After a question and answer session,  there was a show of hands on whether the parish council should trigger the full moratorium which could block the sale of the pub until the community has had the chance to buy it themselves.  The meeting was strongly in favour of not triggering the moratorium.

🦚🌿 Have your say about nature in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough! 🦆🦋

Our area is one of the most nature depleted in England and your response to the survey’s below will help develop a strategy to help our county to become a world-class environment where both nature and people can thrive. Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRS) will set priorities for nature recovery across England. Your input will help to identify existing habitats and species which it is important to conserve, as well as opportunities to increase biodiversity and create a landscape more resilient to climate change and other environmental pressures.🐞🐝
