That process culminates this season, with the release of a divine original album, and one naturally suited to lighting up the incoming summer months.

Twelve original tracks plus two bonus extras make up the 2025 album The Wish, an accomplished and thoughtful ode to the musical ability and lifelong sentimental value of all things DownTown Mystic Band.

Creative and playful production, rooted in a lifelong appreciation for the artform – New York’s electronic music composer and producer XIMERMJ pushes the boundaries further still, with the brand new EP Trivial Truths.

Carving out a somewhat minimalist and carefree lane, Impervious marks the introduction to this project – something of an adlib freestyle performance, with noteworthy traits gifting recognisable identity as the groove slowly gathers momentum. We hear warped synths, jumpy rhythms, heavy basslines, lashings of space and changes in tone and tempo.

It’s an unpredictable listen, less than three minutes in full, but it speaks volumes on behalf of the limitless artistry and purposeful attention to both detail and time that goes into all things XIMERMJ.

Since graduating from the Berklee College of Music, Liz Huang has worked as a composer, arranger, and orchestrator, creating a multitude of scores for film, television, and video games.

Her background includes classical training and a Master of Music Degree, and one of her most significant recording experiences was at AIR Studios in London, where she recorded her piece The Last Battle, with the brilliant Jake Jackson.
