10.30 am Laura Irvine - Beyond Nutrition – Feeding Soul, Developing Spirit
Laura Irvine is a Biodynamic Practitioner, Fellow of the Biodynamic Institute of Medicine, Psychology graduate and mother. She will be talking about the universal natural lessons we can all take from breastfeeding into any nurturing relationship. Adding to attachment parenting understandings, such as baby
-carrying, she will talk about how to allow biodynamic phenomena. For anyone interested in imbuing an esoteric healing ambience into breastfeeding and life. Parents and expectant parents whatever their feeding decisions and maybe even food professionals thinking about 'service' ethos.
11 am April Whincop - Preparing for breastfeeding, a workshop for expectant parents
The workshop will look at what's important to be aware of so that
* baby's enabled to breastfeed
* nipple pain is minimized
* milk production is protected
* 'red flags' are avoided. April has been working alongside new breastfeeding mothers for 21 years and has been a Lactation Consultant since 2001, re-certifying twice in that time. Since 2008, April has worked for Barnardo's, setting up the Bristol Breastfeeding Support Service which she co-ordinates with Sandra Tanner in both Bristol and South Gloucestershire. April also offers a Breastfeeding Problem Clinic for Bristol City Council Public Health. Her priority remains enabling as many mothers and babies to breastfeed as possible!
