We are hiring for an additional Edit Assistant for a Natural History series.

The role is office based only so you’ll need to be able to come into our Bristol based office every day.
We’re looking for someone to start early May and the contract will run till the end of the year.

Key Roles and Responsibilities we’re looking for are below.
• Be responsible for media management across the production.
• Organise all rushes as they return from shoot and fill in corresponding logs.
• Ingest rushes ready for edit including synching audio and multi camera shoots.
• Liaise with in house Technical Lead and follow best workflow practices.
• Send rushes data to external post house for archive to LTO and check subsequent reports.
• Support in-house editors and edit facilities.

Additional requirements may include:
• Logging media in editing software
• Editing rough assembles, pre-Edits and taster cuts when required

Essential Skills
• Proficient in Avid Media Composer
• Experience working with multi cam shoots and synching.
• Understanding camera formats, codecs and ingest workflows
• At least 1 year working in similar roles on other productions
• Good organisation, attention to detail and ability to multitask
• Communication and ability to work within a team

We are looking for an experienced Edit Producer for a brilliant high end expedition series. This is approx. a 5-6 month contract, starting in June and running till the beginning of November.

You’ll need to show:

· A substantial number (at least 5) of previous edit producing credits; to include global, premium programming

· previous experience of expedition (or similar) edit programming

· strong scripting and sequence building skills

It's a Bristol based position, not a remote working role, and you’ll be editing in person at our lovely post production facility house. The contract will be approx. 6 months in length.

We are looking for an experienced Producer/ Director to work on an exciting high end expedition series, within an established team. The role starts in March and runs to approx. December 2024.

We’re looking for previous experience of:

- expeditions
- working with Talent
- filming on boats
- filming underwater (you’re not expected to go underwater yourself)

There will be the opportunity to take the project through the edit.

We are hiring for a hybrid Edit Assistant/Location Data Wrangler role on an exciting Natural History series. This role is to start within the next few weeks, and you’ll need to be Bristol/South West based.

The role will involve managing media in the production office but also going out on 4-6 expedition shoots and wrangling data on location over a 12-18 month period.

Key Roles and Responsibilities we’re looking for are below.

• Check time code, colour, and record settings on received rushes and flag issues any issues that need rectifying to camera and sound operators.
• Maintain a location log.

We are looking for a Kit Coordinator to work across a number of productions as part of our growing kit department.
With a passion for wildlife filmmaking and a good understanding of both current and upcoming cameras and technology, you’ll work very closely with our production teams.

Role responsibilities include:
• Maintaining, prepping, setting up and packing a wide range of camera and ancillary equipment
• Using our internal booking systems for both in-house and 3rd party rental company kit allocation
• Ability to resolve any kit shortages or hire queries as they arise
• Creation of quotes, kit lists and carnets
• Maintaining all internal kit and arranging servicing when it comes back from location
• Being the interface between production and post production to ensure the process is as smooth as possible

You’ll also have great communication skills as well as an ability to multi task, prioritise and confidently problem solve.
This role is mainly office based.

This isn’t an entry level role – we would expect to see at least two credits in a similar role. Camera trap knowledge would be a definite bonus.

You’ll need to have experience directing underwater blue chip natural history shoots and have an understanding of the filming equipment that underwater filming requires. Ideally you’ll have experience of rebreather and freewater diving shoots too.

We are looking for an Experienced Camera Technician to work on a premium global Natural History series. Working both in the office and on location you’ll be an integral part of the production team.

Our ideal candidate will:

• Spearhead the research into new camera systems particularly focusing on remote camera rigs and new tech in this area. Unearthing new systems that we can lean into – explore the latest rigs that might offer a new look and fresh methodology for capturing new remote behaviour. Feeding back this knowledge to the producer team in a concise and clear way.

• Act as the primary interface between the producer team and camera team – to help drive the construction and development of multiple remote camera traps and rigs. Key, will be helping the two teams to interact and to solve creative challenges.

• Researching and spearheading new systems and techniques for logging and offloading footage from multiple camera traps. Helping to smooth the interface between camera and post.

• Go on location to help rig camera systems and rigs. This might involve working in remote and extreme locations. Across the production it is likely you’d be returning to these locations multiple times to maintain and troubleshoot the systems.

• Help support camera ops to rig / maintain / trouble shoot systems on location.

• There is likely to be opportunity to shoot second camera on location -this may include wildlife photography and / or expedition and behind the scenes style filming.

• Have a passion for cameras (both current and upcoming technology) and enjoy collaborating on new and innovative ways for capturing the perfect shots for the series.

• Liaise with PMs/Line Producer about costs and keep accurate cost records.

• Know how to be the interface between production and post production to ensure the process is smooth as possible.

• Have great communication skills, an ability to multi task, prioritise and confidently problem solve.

We’d expect to see at least three years’ experience. This isn’t an entry level role.

Post-Production Manager

Offspring Films is looking for a highly organized person with a creative flair to oversee the post-production on a major blue chip series. This role would suit either an experienced producer, or a production manager who is interested in the creative side.

The role entails working closely with our VFX company and sound specialists to make sure that these elements of the post run smoothly and on schedule. You would be working with the Series Producer and the Line Producer to manage budgets plus the Producer for feedback and sign offs.

This will be a really interesting role on a high-profile landmark project and we are keen to meet a variety of applicants in order to find the best fit! Ideally this is a full time position, but it could also be a part time (4 days/ week) role.

You will need to have experience in TV production and post production workflows, with solid credits under your belt.

The role will be based out of our office in Bristol.
