🎥 Setting up for a full day of filming!

Last week we had our first monthly content shoot for client ClassTutor. Throughout the day we filmed 30+ pieces of content, from testimonials to FAQ’s.

This setup did the job of providing a set we could move around throughout the day to create a diverse range of shots within a relatively small space. We also were able to make use of the greenscreen to give us even more options in post production.

Over the past few days, we've been working on creating stunning video and photo assets for the launch of the new Red Tonik packaging.

🧺 Accidentally put a full SD card through the washing machine.
🚙 Drove to the wrong side of a large Welsh town (my client was waiting on the other side)
🏠 Booked an AirBnB for a three-day shoot that flooded on day one.

These are all mistakes I made in the first few years of my business, and at the time each of them made me wonder if I was really cut out for this.

Watching the whirlpool of linens buffeting around my beautiful footage on a 40 degree cycle was definitely a low point.

But ultimately, none of these mistakes killed the projects, and for each of them there was a pretty easy solution to stop it happening again.

👖Get an SD card case instead of storing them in my jeans pockets
🤔 Double check my call sheets before I start driving
🏨 Choose hotels instead of AirBnBs

So, if you’re just starting out, don’t worry about making silly mistakes!

As long as you learn from them and don’t repeat them, you’ll be just fine.

(p.s. It turns out the washing machine was no match for the sd card and I got all my footage back)
