A laugh that says “I’m making this up as I go along!”… which I was when I played some Champion Fever sounds underneath a poignant poem by last weekend. I have a real love of improvisation & spontaneity & I’m glad Katrina and I share that. She had no idea what was going to come out of the speakers and did her thing in the spirit of “see what happens”. Fun moment.

I struggle sometimes to talk clearly about what I do without descending into being down on myself. I can also get a bit overwhelmed in places with lots of people talking, so going to a large industry networking event did make me feel a bit apprehensive. Turned out I needn’t have worried. It was relaxed and fun & I wasn't too negative about myself.

The album I mention is Empathy by Anew Colour / Luami.

This epic song needed some BIG EPIC DRUMS. Logic Pro drummer is a brilliant demo making tool that I often use as a starting point, like Made Escape did with her demo of Missing Man. I switched out some of the sounds, added much more nuanced cymbals and then applied plentiful saturation & compression in parallel. Clean drums are nice. Dirty drums are often better!
