This is another mic out of our locker, and we get a lot of use out of this one especially as a mono drum mic placed a few steps away from the kit. First manufactured in 1956 this hypercardioid ribbon microphone gives us plenty of mojo with its frequency response of 30hz - 15khz. We recently had this re-ribboned by so is sounding fantastic!

Had a good time last Sunday at Ford Lane Studios testing out some new ideas and experimenting with different techniques for drum recording. Our latest pickup from an antique shop of all places! Made in Germany in 1941, designed for broadcast usage, it’s made from Bakelite and utilises a carbon dynamic capsule. A very interesting find, looking forward to seeing what uses we can find for it in the studio.

Our latest pickup has been the LCD-X’s from Audeze. These headphones have been a hot topic with mixing and mastering engineers alike! Introduced in 2013 and revamped in 2021 these provide the listener with a super transparent and dynamic response making mixing/mastering decisions effortless and well informed. Utilising planar magnetic technology these offer an almost three dimensional view into music, so we both are very much looking forward to working with clients and hearing some new sonics through them!

Our Fender Bassbreaker is a versatile and brilliant sounding tube amp, capable of pristine Fender cleans as well as crunchy driven tones, and works great as a pedal platform amp.
The Ryusuke Effects Ivory is a low to medium gain overdrive pedal designed to emulate a vintage Fender amp. The right channel acts as a boost with a switch to toggle between a “fat” or “bright” tone. The large switch in the middle turns the right channel into a gritty fuzz!
The Deadbeat Wet Dreams is a simple yet great sounding analog chorus pedal. It can range from adding subtle depth to full on wacky modulation. Perfect for those 80s or indie tones!
The EHX Deluxe Memory Boy is a very versatile and luscious sounding analog delay. Featuring tap tempo and subdivisions allowing you achieve your ideal delay rhythm with ease!

Formerly known as ‘Fingerlegs’, FiSHEYE has been a frequent client of ours, always coming to us with a fresh and aggressive sound ready to capture. When working on their most recent single, “Pyramid Of Geeza!”, it became a really creative and engaging collaboration between us and the band with trying out experimental recording techniques and implementing interesting arrangement ideas.

The Roland JUNO-X:

The OC818 is one of our most versatile and best sounding mics in our locker. Fully specced with high pass filters, PADs and an almost endless multitude of polar patterns due to its dual capsule and output design.
