I’m toying with the idea of adding a multiband eq unit to my outboard rig, to further reduce my reliance on software plugins and post production. It’d have to be a relatively good one but I’m a boy on a budget. Anyone have any suggestions?

Sit-Rep: Important piece of kit (dbx 266xs dual compressor/gate) was misbehaving. Sent back to the manufacturer, got it back within 2 working days, very pleased.
Now to slot it back into place and do some test recordings!

I’m thinking that with two kids, a working wife and a business to run, we could really do with a child-minder/housekeeper/cook.
I can pay thrupence an hour and all the hedge trimmings you can eat.

Tap4Fun produce simple, funky, strategy/action games like ‘Age of Apes’. Although they didn’t end up using the voice of One-Eyed-Eric, they still came back to me for several characters in ‘Kingdom Guard’ so I wasn’t too put out.

Even sitting alone in a soundproof(ish) booth, even knowing no one I have ever met will likely ever hear it, there’s something about reading explicit s*x scenes that still feels embarrassing.
Still, the third piece of work in less than two weeks – I ain’t complainin’!!

My wife just tested positive for Covid. She’s basically fine, just miserable and she’s hiding in her room so she doesn’t give it to anyone else.

Found a new channel for voiceover auditions, yearly fee but no commission, no restriction on taking client relationships outside the platform. Watched a couple of reviews from other VO artists, seems legit and £157 ($199) is way cheaper than some of the really big, unethical platforms so lets give it a try.

Got another supporting artist gig, the week before the one that’s already booked. Calendar’s filling up quick, it’s exiting.
