Introduction

Mark Cribb loves hospitality, its global diversity and the incredibly varied humans who animate it and bring it to life. Mark fell for hospitality and its humans during his 2 year travels around Asia, Australasia and the Caribbean – a long time before he knew the industry would become his life’s adventure. Mark now has a little family of restaurants and a boutique hotel in Bournemouth, England (www.urbanguild.co.uk).

The ‘Humans of Hospitality’ podcast is about the people, rather than the brands, who as individuals, bring energy and vibrancy to their corner of hospitality – and, who, as a group, make the world of food and drink a richer place. We’re inviting you in to hear their fascinating stories.

In Mark’s words 'the world was never meant to be formulaic. Formulas make life predictable and dull. What I loved as a traveller was being lost in noisy, crazy cities, never knowing who I’d meet next and what memories I’d make. That’s why I love talking to other Humans of Hospitality. Without their quirkiness and energy, the world of food and drink is a poorer and forgettable place’.

In the Humans of Hospitality podcast you can meet great humans who share their stories. Entrepreneurs, bakers, coffee roasters, brewers, chefs, waiters, owners and more. These great humans discuss what they do and why they do it, and quite often, their optimism or concerns about the future for the industry.
