Behold, my stuff!
These are new products I used when painting the poxwalkers.
Can honestly say all of them are amazing. (Note to self artist white spirit is just white spirit) My thoughts.
Kimera Kolors - amazing opacity and designed to be an artists paint range for miniature painting all clothing and leather was painted by mixing these.
Inks - I used a mix of liquitex and daler rowney on the skin over a zenithal prehighlight.
MIG ammo metallics - the silvers are the best and smoothest I have ever used. Retiring my scale 75 which is saying something. (Not used the golds, brass and copper yet)
Mr Weathering - can be used straight or thinned with white spirit. I used with both cotton buds and brush to remove excess and found cotton buds remove much better, it might take more practice but using a brush just displaces it.
Oil Paints- I used these as a wash mixed a little brown and black and used white spirits to create a wash. For same reasons as above cotton buds suited me better to come back and remove where I wanted full base colours to show.
Mixing took a bit of getting used to as I did a batch of 10 with the wash way too thick and it looked uncontrolled (luckily still very Nurgley)
In summary if you like the idea of mixing your own tones and being Bob Ross then Kimera are amazing, if not stick to pre mixed tones.
I would say everything else can genuinely add to any mini painters skill and efficiency and I am already mentally planning how they will be incredible time savers and improvements in my upcoming projects.
