Volunteers at Grosvenor Road Studios, Birmingham have today been awarded The King's Award for Voluntary Service. This is the highest award a local voluntary group can receive in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE.

Meraki Bey, a founder of Females About Music will be performing at the next GRS Live event on Thursday 26th September, 7 - 10pm.

'The genres I produce are mainly Pop and R&B. I like to create whatever sound I feel is perfect for the emotions I want to portray in the moment. I like to delve into different sounds and combine them to create something that no one has heard before.'

We are still on such a high from this weekend's fantastic Musical Garden - a truly memorable event full of fantastic performances, food and community.

It was an honour to welcome the String Quartet from the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra as part of their CBSO in the City programme - who'd have thought members of Birmingham’s orchestra would be playing loud and proud in our own backyard?!?

This weekend's Musical Garden event could not have happened without the support of our two wonderful funders: the John Feeney Charitable Trust and the Westhill Endowment. We are very, very grateful to them for their support and to everyone who turned out for this joyous afternoon.
