🚨 New Research Published!

I am delighted to share our latest study published:

📄 A cross-sectional study exploring the sitting time of Afghans and other South Asian youth in the UK.

Our study reveals:

🔸 British South Asian (BSA) youth are spending worrying amounts of time sitting daily.

🔸 Indian youth reported the highest sitting time (~482 min/day), while Afghan youth reported the lowest (~345 min/day).

🔸 This is the first study to explore sitting time across different BSA ethnic groups, highlighting critical intra-ethnic differences often overlooked in health research.

🚀 Why it matters:

Prolonged sitting is linked to obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. The findings call for culturally tailored interventions to reduce sedentary time and promote active lifestyles among these communities.

👉 Let's rethink how we engage youth from diverse backgrounds in physical activity and address sedentary behaviours early.
