🌟 A night to remember in Birmingham, UK 🌟

Last night, I had the honour of attending Javed Amirkhail جاوید امیرخېل concert here in Birmingham, UK. Javed is one of the most influential singers of our country, artists like him keep our culture and language alive. As long as poets and singers continue to serve, our heritage will stand strong. 🇦🇫

The evening felt more like a community reunion than just a musical event. Two moments especially moved me:

First: The song dedicated to fathers it truly touched my heart. I lost my father and not a single day passes without his memory. I still have his final voice message recorded just 45 minutes before his sudden passing. We were planning to meet for Eid but fate had other plans. I couldn't hold back my tears during the song.

The tribute to Gelaman, our national hero who was unjustly martyred by the enemies of humanity this performance reminded us of the sacrifices made by those who stood for dignity, honour and truth. His legacy lives on through our voices, our unity, and our pride.

In those emotional moments, I am truly grateful to have had Navid and Ahmed beside me, your support meant a lot. 🙏

My deepest thanks to Javed Amerkhail for an unforgettable performance, and to everyone involved in organising such a meaningful event. Special appreciation to Fahim Zazi for your hospitality and hard work. 👏

It is increasingly evident that Pakistan’s policies towards Afghanistan continue to raise deep concern. The recent strikes on Kunar, Paktia, and Khost, three major Afghan provinces are not only violations of international law but acts that disregard basic humanitarian principles. Such actions undermine regional stability and inflict unnecessary suffering on innocent people.

For decades, Pakistan’s strategic approach has been shaped by short-term geopolitical calculations, often at the expense of Afghan sovereignty and peace. Its behaviour mirrors a pattern seen in other conflicts where disproportionate force and external interference exacerbate tensions rather than resolve them.

Afghanistan, like any sovereign nation, has the fundamental right to defend its people and its territory. The international community must recognise these realities and ensure that principles of justice, sovereignty, and human dignity are upheld.

The greatest achievement in life isn’t wealth, titles, or recognitions, it’s becoming truly human and understanding who you are at your core.

Self-awareness is the foundation of growth. When you know yourself, you live with purpose, clarity and compassion and you show up stronger for the world around you.

Yesterday, I had the opportunity to speak with the BBC about physical activity, health and wellbeing, with a particular focus on hard-to-reach communities living in deprived areas. We also discussed the challenges faced in highly masculinised societies—especially contexts like Afghanistan where women and girls continue to face bans on accessing gyms, parks, and even basic education.

These structural barriers have profound implications for health equity, community wellbeing and the future of public health. This is a much-needed conversation.
