After years of thinking about it, insecurities, imposter syndrome and all that.. I have finally set up my YouTube channel to do what I know best - teaching English and creating courses - and without too much overthinking ( that came later) I posted my first quick video!

It is NOT easy to put yourself out there. More videos to come, I am just learning the hardest bit - to edit them. It is a lot of hard work but I am so excited that I have finally done it!

Whatever is stopping you from doing what you want - probably mainly insecurities and fear - try to face them head on! I am so glad I have! No looking back now! 🥳

When I am quiet on social media and post nothing, that means I am working on something and then BANG – NEW BOOKS!
I did a short course a few weeks ago called “Introduction to Mindfulness and reducing anxiety in children” and these books were created as a result.
The books give simple but effective and most importantly actionable advice on how kids can be mindful in their everyday lives and makes if fun, it is all about noticing what is happening around you and focusing on your breathing.
★ The book consists of 49 (single - sided) colouring pages with examples of MINDFUL PRACTICES for every letter of the alphabet, follow up ACTIVITIES, simple explanations, INSPIRATIONAL QUOTES, and POSITIVE AFFIRMATIONS.
★ The book starts with the explanations of mindfulness is and its benefits.
★ Examples of mindful practices include: A – be AWARE of yourself and your surroundings, B – BELIEVE in yourself, C – be CALM and relaxed, D – DAYDREAM and let your thoughts wander etc.

I taught at P4 ( 8 year-olds) this week. An amazing group of young people. We started our day by repeating some positive affirmations for self- confidence and success. Some kids did not feel comfortable repeating about themselves “I am filled with excellence”, “I have my own talents”, “ I am amazing”, “ It is okay to be different” etc. but I knew it was a good start.

Later that day, one of the students said she did not want me to look at her drawing as “it was not good enough”. I asked her if she thought she wasn’t good enough. She nodded. I said to her: “Do you remember what we said this morning? - “You are amazing”, “You are good enough” and “ I have talents which are just mine.” She nodded. It was a start I guess.. 🤞

We all want our kids (and students or children in our lives) to be kind, to others but also to themselves… it is heart-breaking seeing a young girl saying to me she is not good enough.

That’s why I keep making children’s books with positive affirmations and on acts on kindness.. as I want my own kid to use them too and be kind to himself…

As it is a life-long journey.. to be kind to other is easier but not so much to ourselves. Can you relate?

One of the reasons I started writing books for children is to show that learning can be fun through reading, learning new words, drawing and creating. I met many kids who seem to believe they hate learning and hate reading and that really upset me.

I am so proud of myself now having created over 30 books for children on various topics to inspire them and show them that learning can be fun!

We read to our son every night and he has his own wee library in his room so I hope I am doing a good job just at that - showing him that reading can be fun and can influence our lives profoundly. His new favourite book is “Stick Man” by Julia Donaldson.
