We are aware of a post and rumours circulating Bedlington about our opening times. This has come about by someone not reading a notice properly.

This is the sign that’s up in the Post Office. These are TEMPORARY opening hours for 10 days in July to allow myself and Martyn a well earned holiday. We have exhausted all avenues and cannot get extra cover so we had the choice of reducing the hours temporarily to fit in around our current staff (who are amazing by the way) or close for two weeks. Normal hours of service will resume from the 26th July.

The sign has been put up early to allow people to try and make alternative arrangements for those two weeks rather than turning up and finding out that we are closed.

Please speak to myself or Martyn if you have any concerns and we will do our best to help.

We are open over the Bank Holiday Weekend 🐥

Good Friday 6am - 10am
Saturday 6am - 12pm
Easter Sunday 6am - 10am (no Post Office services)
Bank Holiday Monday. 6am - 10am

Post Office services will be restricted on Friday and Monday. Everything will be back to normal on Tuesday 2nd April.

Our newspapers haven’t turned up this morning. If/when they arrive then we will get them out to our customers as soon as we can. This could be anytime up to midday.

A bag was found outside the shop this morning. The strap is broken and there is nothing inside but if it belongs to you, we’ve got it behind the counter.

We are open tomorrow morning between 7am and 9am in order to get the newspapers out and delivered. There are no post office services until Tuesday 2nd Jan.

Our papers are running late today. Apparently the driver didn’t turn up at the depot so they have to try and find someone else to get the papers out on this particular round which will affect all of Bedlington.

As soon as they come in, myself and Martyn will go out and deliver to our customers. I will keep you updated.

We’ve still got a few tags left for our Christmas For All charity. You choose a tag, buy the suggested gift and bring it back to us unwrapped. Christmas For All will then wrap these and make sure local children are given the gifts on Xmas Day.

Bedlington Communuty Centre is holding a Xmas craft fair on Saturday. Pop along between 10am and 3pm and have a browse and a drink 😊

We are supporting “ Christmas For All” again this year. We want to make sure every local child has a present to open on Christmas morning. The idea is that you call in to the shop, choose a tag with a suggested gift on it. After you have bought the gift, bring it back to us (unwrapped) along with the tag and we will make sure that the charity receives all the gifts in time to give them out to the children 😊🎄🎁

We have our special Santa Postbox out ready for children to post their Xmas letters. Royal Mail have set the last posting date for these as Thursday 30th November.

Nothing ever runs smoothly does it? 😩

We’ve had a power cut so everything is off at the moment. We don’t know when the electric will be restored but we will update you as soon as we have any more info. We’ve got no access to post office services or our tills so the shop is closed currently.

Also we haven’t had any telegraphs delivered this morning. As soon as they arrive then Martyn will go and deliver them.

Fingers crossed we get our power back on soon.

Miraculously the papers have just come in. Everything should be as normal today. We have been warned there may be further delays during the week.

Monday 6th November

We’ve had notification that our papers are going to be a few hrs late due to the van breaking down (possibly the same van that broke down on Friday 😩). This is going to have a huge knock on affect for our rounds as the paper boys/girls are at school. Martyn and myself will try and get everything delivered as soon as we can.
