Norse Orcs are coming!
Hi Everyone,
I'm really excited to let you all know that we will be launching a new Kickstarter Campaign circa September for our latest project - Norse Orcs!
The Norse Orcs will allow you to play 3 different Greenskin Teams (Blorcs, Orcs and Goblins) all with a Norse / Viking vibe. You'll also be able to play them as an Orc themed Norse team, complete with Valkyries, Ulfs and, most importantly of all, Beer Squigs!
I'll be posting updates here regularly as the campaign develops, but you can follow us and get a reminder on launch day here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/agemaminis/norse-orcs-northern-greenskins-for-fantasy-football
The more follows / reminder registrations we can generate, the more the KS Algorithm promotes the campaign and the closer we will get to funding, so please, follow the link and register.
Thanks everyone! WIP images of the sculpts will be coming shortly
Cheers

Which is the Best Team in Blood Bowl - Part 1

Ever wondered which is the best team in Blood Bowl? I’ve played Blood Bowl now for many years, but it’s a question that’s never really bothered me. I play the teams that I like. Recently, however, my 11 year old son decided he wanted to start playing. After our first game, which he managed to draw, he asked me ‘Dad, which is the best team in the game?’

Star Players Now Available!
Hi Guys,
Kuba over at Studio Bart has finished painting some more Star Players for me, namely a brace of dastardly Goblins (a bomber and an assassin) and, to try and keep them in check, a Ref.
All 3 of these literal bad boys are now available in our web store here: https://www.agemaminis.co.uk/product-category/star-players/
More models and beautiful paintjobs are in the works, so keep a look-out for them!
Cheers

Star Players You Never Use
Hi Everyone,
I'm in the process of teaching my Son to play Blood Bowl, and we started talking about Star Players. He likes Dark Elves and wanted to run Jeremiah Kool in his team, but was miffed he didn't have the cash or TV to do it. At eleven years old, he's still trying to find the uber-meta-breaking build that will crush all before him (good luck with that!)
Which got me thinking - there are Stars we'd all take if we could (Morg, Bomber, Cindy) but what about the Stars no-one ever takes? Whenever I play my local League or Tournaments, you pretty much always see the same players. Which are the ones you never see, and why?
Gretchen Wachter? Zolcath the Zoat? Is there a Star Player for whom a mini doesn't yet exist and you'd love to see released? Let me know :-)
Cheers

Painted Flings!
Hi Everyone,
Whilst I'm not completely ham fi**ed with a paint brush, I am aware of my own limits - my eyesight is pretty poor these days! So I asked Kuba of StudioBart to paint up some Flings for me, to replace my OK-ish images on my webstore.
And I hope you will agree he's done an amazing job! We have 3 minis to show off - the Master Chef, the Halfling Apothecary and Rowdy Pieface, the Halfling Coach. I particularly like the object source lighting on the Chef's bottle, and the gore on the Apo!!
If you'd like some 'Fling sideline staff, you can find them here: https://www.agemaminis.co.uk/product-category/star-players/
Next up will be some Goblin Star Players

Painted Quercus
Hi Everyone,
With rain sweeping most of the UK over the Easter Weekend, I decided to paint a test print of our most recent mini, Quercus Strangleroot. I'm really quite pleased how he came out - including a test of my recent purchase of dirty down moss from Element Games. I love this stuff, especially on Tree Men.
He needs a tweak to his leg positioning to get him to fit on a 40mm base, but other than that he's ready. We have our version also of Glimmershard in the works, and I'll show her off soon.
As always, hope you like him :-)
Cheers

Quercus Strangleroot
Hi All,
As you may remember, I showed the concept art for out version of Maple Highgrove a few weeks back, and now I can show the model himself! This chap was sculpted for me by Hernan Godoy, and I hope you agree that he is suitably young, sappy and trippy!
I will be painting up an initial test print, and once done he will be up in our webstore - 60mms of no negatrait tree for the excellent price of £15.
Enjoy!
Cheers

Krak & Burt Cannonball
Hi Guys,
After receiving their beautiful paint-job from the very talented Kuba over at Studio Bart, I wanted to show off our latest Star Players for everyone's favourite fantasy football game, Krak and Burt Cannonball!
As I regularly play 'Flings, these guys are a regular feature in my team. More than once I've been saved from complete humiliation by a spectacular Kick Team-mate action!
Krak & Burt are available now and you can find them in our webstore under Star Players here: https://www.agemaminis.co.uk/product/krak-and-burt-cannonball/

Cave Troll
Hi All,
I had some time in between work this week to progress my Cave Troll painting. He's been sat on my desk for months, so I pushed myself to get him done (at the expense of my Squig Saurus team unfortunately).
The arrival of some Dirty Down Rust and Moss effect paints also game me the impetus, and even though I say so myself (!) I think he came out quite well! I love these Dirty Down paints - so easy to use and great effects.
If you fancy one of these beautiful models (unpainted of course!) you can get him here www.agemaminis.co.uk Go to the 'Big Guys' section and select Cave Troll v3
Tomorrow off to find more Oldhammer gold in my parent's box room!
Cheers

Blasts from the past!
Hi Guys,
I was at my aged parent's place last weekend, helping them clear out a back bedroom (as you do), and I came across these guys. I think they must be from the late 80's or early 90's, and all my memories of early Warhammer days came flooding back!
These are great models, and I'm quite impressed with my early painting skills too (back when I could actually see!!) I particularly like the Slaaneshi warrior's tail. Looks like I even tried some blending on the Wizard's armour - I may have used oil paints I think (GW paints didn't exist back then....)
Suffice to say I'm going back this weekend to see if I can find any more 80's gems :-)
Cheers
Greg

Agema Miniatures

Agema (which comes from the Greek word for ‘Vanguard’ or ‘Elite’) was born out of my twin obsessions with ancient history and wargaming. I started wargaming as a small boy growing up on an Army base in West Germany. My father had a large collection of Rico plastic tanks and infantry which were used in Army training exercises, and from the day I was given some as an incentive to do my homework, I was hooked.

I collected Airfix 1/72 figures when we came back to the UK in 1978 (mostly ACW), and then got heavily into Fantasy gaming when by accident I was introduced to Dungeons & Dragons shortly thereafter. Warhammer was the natural progression from D&D and I have a substantial collection of Citadel & GW figures, bought and painted to support years of Fantasy Battle gaming. But Ancient History has always been my first love, and the 2 obsessions were destined to combine at some point!

In 2013 I decided to stop postponing the inevitable and launched Agema Miniatures with the objective of bringing gaming miniatures to tables everywhere that are as Historically accurate as possible, and hopefully a bit different from what can sometimes be ‘the wargamin norm’ or perceived convention.

I hope you like what we do, and hope you enjoy the pictures, posts and articles on this page. If you do, then please do click over to our webstore and help support us by buying some of the lovingly crafted miniatures on offer: www.agemaminiatures.co.uk/shop
