ABOUT GABON 24

Gabon 24 is a 24/7 pan-African news channel, based in Gabon and broadcasting on the satellite packages Canal + Afrique and Satcon. It is also available in more than 20 countries on the African continent and in Europe.

Gabon 24 is the first and only 24/7 news channel in Gabon, live streaming on Youtube and relaying the information it broadcasts on its social networks.

In addition to its news, Gabon 24 offers thematic programs to decipher current events and deliver to its viewers topics that affect them on a daily basis.

At its launching on 24 May 2016, Gabon 24 belonged to the Gabon Télévisions group. Two years later, day for day, Decree No. 0152/MAPDN of 04 May 2018 marked its exit from the group. On 26 February 2019, the Council of Ministers amended the provisions of Article 2, Decree No. 0152/MAPDN of 04 May 2018, making Gabon 24 a commercial channel. At the same time, Laure Bigourd and Marie-Noëlle Ada Meyo, both graduates of the École supérieure de Journalisme in Lille, were appointed to head the network.

MISSION & VISION

Gabon 24 has the mission to inform. For this, the channel wants to be at the heart of the news by multiplying live coverages of key events (live-u coverage, deployment of special envoys, reports...).

The channel also has the mission to show the image of a developing Gabon and a strong Africa. Gabon 24 is the voice of all those, in Gabon and elsewhere on the continent, are advancing and building the Africa of tomorrow. The channel also offers its own reading grid for Pan-african and international news.

OUR PROGRAMMES

Every day, Gabon 24 broadcasts three blocks of information:

From 8.30 to 10.00 am, from 12.00 to 15.00 pm and from 6.00 to 22.00 pm. These information blocks are punctuated by two types of information editions: the small information edition called "Le Journal" (10-15 minutes) and "La Grande Edition" (20-26 minutes). The News in English, the "G24 News", broadcasting daily at 5:30 pm and 10:30 pm, also reviews the information for an English-speaking audience.

Each issue review national, African and international news. At the same time, Gabon 24 broadcasts decipher current events through shows on TV sets intended to accompany viewers in their understanding of news. We count on our antenna a variety of programs, among which "Decryption", "Additional info", "52 minutes with", "Multisports 24" or "Ici l'Afrique".

A VARIETY OF EMISSIONS

Gabon 24 offers an enriched programme schedule, with daily and weekly appointments on relevant topics for our viewers: politics, health, sport, economics, environment, culture and new technologies. New programmes will soon be added to this panel, with the same ambition to put things in perspective and explain current events.

GABON 24 ON SOCIAL MEDIA

At a time of modernity and digitalization, Gabon 24 intends to use social networks as tools for interaction with the public and for maintaining a community of subscribers. An innovative website and a free mobile app will strengthen the channel’s digital ecosystem, already enhanced by a certification badge on Facebook.
