Trying something a little different with this portrait. Some have felt disturbed by this or just curious to it's intention. I'm interested to hear your thoughts/feelings to this type of portraiture.

Man! It's been a minute, so much going on while still being stuck indoors. I know I've posted pics of my watch before, it just so happened that I had the challenge to capture details. Whenever I think of details I think of this watch, a gift from my wife.

It's actually quite difficult to capture something with minute detail since the sensor and lenses you use all play a part in capturing the fine lines. Thankfully with the help of my strobe and some post-editing tricks I took as far as I could.

it's not lost on me the references to time in this post. :P

Isolation can be difficult, for me, I have managed to find a lot of peace and comfort. I'm not sure that's 'normal' but I think it's necessary in order to survive mentally through this pandemic. It's not to say that I don't enjoy being around others, but I am comfortable in my own head. I know it's not the same for a lot of people. How do you deal with isolation?

“Cleanse” - I love to shower, saying that out loud feels weird. It’s almost therapeutic in a way as I imagine I’m either getting rid of a (bad/hard) day or starting fresh for a new one. Maybe it’s just me?

While 2020 has been a 💩 🔥 it’s given me an opportunity to really hone my photography skills. Joining different communities and constantly challenging myself.

I'm back in SA for a quick (controlled) visit to see family for the holidays. But first, I'm in self-quarantine and thought it would be nice to get a snap of the lodge guest that I'm in. I haven't seen a pool in a year so this is a welcomed sight!

Nixon Behind The Scenes Edit

My favourite daily watch has gained some wear and tear scratches. Using some really cool techniques I was able to make the watch appear as good as new and give a really nice shine to the final image.

Inspired by some mad max themes, I recreated the sandstorm. It was a lot of work and didn’t want it to not see the light of day

Did an edit for @dangerousdavelive for his streamfam. Head over to his gaming channel to watch the man in action, he’s beast! Also what do you think of this cinemagraph (moving picture) pretty happy with how it turned out to add a bit more mood to the image.

Hunger for passion

I’ve always been envious of people with raw talent, like drawing, crafting and mechanical where the labour of the work is delivered in a tangible object. I never thought I would ever be able to create anything meaningful until I found photography. Ironically I’ve owned a DSLR camera for well over a decade now, but never fully utilised it to its full potential, i.e. I shot on auto. It wasn’t until recently that I took a beginner course on photography and how to use a DSLR.

Well my eyes have been opened, and I have discovered a world of more than taking pictures, but one filled with colour, composition light and magic. I’m forever scouring websites to keep learning and growing. I try to take photos at every opportunity and then rush home to edit them and see how they come out. Amazing photographers and editors have inspired me in photo retouching, editing and manipulation.

I want to be able to deliver the same, and I want it now. I contemplated for a long time on whether or not I could start some fan club, man it still sounds obnoxious. But here we are I just decided to go for it, cause why not, I have nothing to lose.
