France's epic history of open-air stadiums captured in Paris expo
In the run-up to the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Paris' museum of architecture and heritage is taking a closer look at the history of stadiums in France, such as the Stade Vélodrome in Marseille or the Stade de France in Saint-Denis near Paris.

The stadium where Paris hosted its first Olympics in 1900
On the eastern edge of Paris is the Velodrome de Vincennes which was the main stadium for the 1900 Paris Games. It was also the venue for cycling races of the 1924 Olympics. The stadium's stands were built by Gustave Eiffel. Dhananjay Khadilkar went to see what it looks like now.
Bridging the French and English languages with Cotgrave's dictionary
This week is the Semaine de la Franophonie. To mark it, RFI Language services have focused on bilingual French dictionaries in their given languages and how those dictionaries evolved. The famous French cheese Camembert is in a bit of bother due to the fungus called Penicillium camemberti, which is responsible for the texture and flavour of Camembert. Experts are worried that this fungus is facing a decline in its reproductive capacity. https://rfi.my/ARft.f
Historical home of the French language
The Château de Villers-Cotterêts, located 50 kilometres north of Paris, reopened its doors after four years of extensive restoration work. The Renaissance castle is now home to the International French Language Centre. It was here in 1539, that King Francis I signed the Ordinance of Villers-Cotterêts, making French the country's official language. RFI took a guided tour with deputy director Xavier Bailly. Japan’s pioneer graphic novelist opens doors for women in manga
Moto Hagio is a unique figure in the male-dominated world of Japanese manga writing. She revolutionised the comic book genre in the 1970s by refusing to write only for a female audience. France honoured her with an award at the Angoulême International Comics Festival in January and a retrospective "Beyond Genres" at the Angoulême Museum until 17 March. RFI met the curator Xavier Guilbert.

Since its creation in 2001, the Irene Joliot-Curie Prize is given to women researchers for their outstanding contribution to science.Claire de March whose research focuses on understanding the understanding the complexity of odour perception, was one of this year's winners. Inshallah a Boy: a film that tackles women’s rights in Jordan
In his first feature film, Inshallah a Boy, young director Amjad Al Rasheed focuses on one mother’s brave efforts to stand up to Jordan’s archaic, patriarchal laws. Carried charismatically by award-winning actress Mouna Hawa, the film addresses the wider issue of gender inequality in society. New Olympics venue in Paris puts emphasises on sustainability
The Adidas Arena is the only venue inside Paris that has been built specifically for the Paris 2024 Games. Inaugurated recently, the stadium is already operational and is currently hosting the French Open badminton tournament.

French beekeepers in difficulty
French beekeepers showing off their gooey goodies at the Agriculture Fair in Paris say that selling their honey has become increasingly difficult because the market is saturated with imports. A rollback on pesticide rules is also causing concern for the welfare of bees.
