SEC investigates BAYC creators, Yuga Labs, over the sale of unregistered tokens.

The creators of the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection, Yuga labs, are facing SEC problems. The company has been accused of reportedly violating federal law by selling unregistered digital assets.

The U.S. Security and Exchange Commission is currently examining the case. The SEC is yet not sure if certain non-fungible tokens are comparable to stocks and thus should follow the same rules of disclosure. Basically, it all comes down to whether SEC decides that tokens offered by Yuga Labs are securities. According to Bloomberg, the regulator might have been investigating the NFT market and whether certain NFTs are securities since March this year.

A Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT holder opens a BAYC-themed café in Switzerland.

A Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT holder CryptoJanswiis announces the opening of a dedicated cafe in Berne, Switzerland.

The anonymous club member, who owns a BAYC NFT #9426, aims to spread positivity through coffee and invites all Ape and MAYC holders to the new location. Additionally, CryptoJanswiis encourages holders to help them decorate the cafe with as many Bored Ape NFTs as possible:

“If you own a BoredApeYC BAYC or MAYC, post it below in the comments, and it will be on display at The Bored Café,” tweets CryptoJanswiis.

According to the international law firm Scott+Scott’s website, there’s a possibility that the non-fungible token (NFT) company Yuga Labs may be threatened with a class action lawsuit for generally promoting “the growth prospects and change for huge returns on investment to unsuspecting investors.”

Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) non-fungible token (NFT) assets are some of the most popular NFTs today. Bored Apes are owned by celebrities like Madonna, Eminem, Shaquille O’Neal, Paris Hilton, and Gwyneth Paltrow.
There are 9,999 BAYC NFTs built on the Ethereum blockchain, and 6,412 unique addresses currently own the digital collectibles. Additionally, the collection sees a significant amount of trade volume and some traders have made millions of dollars by trading Bored Ape NFTs. NFT Used as Collateral

A Singapore man has won a court injunction that blocks the sale or potential transfer of a Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) non-fungible token (NFT) that he claims to be rightfully his. According to a report, the NFT is currently in the possession of an online lender named Chefpierre.

The man, who has been identified by the Strait Times (ST) as Janesh Rajkumar, is seeking to recover the BAYC 2162 NFT which he pledged as his security for a loan obtained from Chefpierre. Rajkumar claimed the NFT was wrongfully taken from him.

Non-fungible token (NFT) sales volume has rebounded this week after weeks of sliding sales volumes. According to statistics from cryptoslam.io, out of 15 different blockchain networks, seven-day sales have jumped 17.86% this week. Metrics indicate that the aggregate NFT sales volume during the last week was $457.67 million.
