Nobody has ever matched the imaginatively, quality and style of French master Cabinet maker Jean Henri Riesener.

In the Gilded Age this was highly desirable antique that only a few were smart enough to acquire them. The best of the best.

Jean-Henri Riesener was a master of cabinetry in 18th-century France. This is one of his greatest masterpieces, the Comte de Provence jewel cabinet. It was made by Riesener for Marie-Joséphine-Louise of Savoy though it later passed through the hands of George IV who bought it at auction with the intention of displaying it in Windsor Castle.

If only furniture could talk - The Gilded Age’s most scandalous daybed was not made for sleeping. Designed for the notorious courtesan Esther Lachmann, better known as La Païva. Her notoriety was not because of her relationships with Paris’s richest gentleman, her notoriety was because of her refusal to meet with Napoleon III.

Gilded Age Antiques ?

Were 19th Century reproductions of 17th century entrance tables manufactured to fool the buyer into thinking there were older and more expensive ? Yes, but the quality of this one is exceptional, you can only tell the difference by looking at the underside of the table and having seen a real one to compare it to.

This is a 19th Century reproductions that almost looks like the real thing because there are no traces of 300 years of age that you would find on the feet.

This is still a beautiful piece of furniture and now it is considered an antique, but you need to look closely if you want to know the difference.

Gilded Age Toy or Architectural building block masterpiece?

Anchor Block’s are both, this set is rumored to be one of four that were manufactured in Germany for the 1900 Worlds Fair in Paris.

There is one box of of just floor plans, design ideas, architectural plans, layouts, and illustrations to build several hundred different designs for stone building.

There are 14 levels of boxes with cast stone building blocks that can be assembled with several different option’s for building designs.

I would be interested in loaning this set to any US cultural organization that would be interested in rebuilding a miniature stone building for an Guilded Age exhibition .

PM if there is any interest.
